Married for 65 years is great. My Dad died when he was 56 & my Mom when she was 61. When he died they had been married for 36 years.
For my husband & me we will be married 48 years in Sept. Guess I will keep him for another 48 years.

mother was 31 and dad was 45 when they married,,so they only had 32 years...

My grandparents were both alive to celebrate their 70th anniversary.

My parents almost made it to their 63rd anniversary before we lost Mom. They had a wonderful marriage.

My first husband and I were married for over 57 years when he died. Two years later I married the man who had been my boy friend when I was 18. He had lost his wife after 55 years of marriage. When it was suggested that we take a marriage preparation course we refused. We felt that the 112 years we had between us were enough preparation. We have now been married for five and a half years.

My mother died the year my parents were married 19 years. I have lived much longer than she did and have been married 48 years.

DH and I have been married for 59 + years, but started dating a few years before marriage....both 16 when we started dating. Yes, some years have been longer than others, but now that the "sunset" is approaching as we face age 80, it all seems such a short time ago. What a really splendid trip it has been!

52 years in September. I was only 17.

I was married 42 years in April, I was 11. (no, truth is, I was 21 ;)..... we're so much a part of each other I can't imagine ever starting over so suppose I'll keep him :)

I hadn't actually thought in terms of how long my parents were married. It was almost 19 years, he died at age 40 in 1965. She tried again but divorced and has lived alone many years - if my dad was alive with her they could conceivably been together 67 years.

We became very attached to neighbors who had been married almost 70 years and lived very long healthy lives. Both gone now and I still miss them, they blessed and enriched our lives. When Leo died a few years after his wife, DH said he felt like he'd lost his Dad all over again, that's how much he loved him.

I lost my dad in the year that would have been his 58th wedding anniversary. Mother lived on for 22 years more; Each passing year became more lonely for her as her friends and correspondents passed on. She outlived every member of her immediate family and she came from a family of 10 siblings.

We have been married 47 years last April. Now if we can just last another 3 years we will make it to 50 years.

He will be 77 on July 4 and I will be 72 on June 22. I never expected to live this long since I have had Type 1 diabetes since age 12 and he has emphysema after being a heavy smoker for most of his life.

He spent two years in combat during Viet Nam and has 2 purple
hearts plus numerous other medals for heroism. It wasn't always easy but he has been the love of my life and we have 2 beautiful daughters and he most amazing grandson.

My parents were 16 and 19 when they married. They were just a few months short of their 68th when we lost my father last June. My son and his wife were married on what would have been their 68th.

My husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary in April. If my Dad would have lived two months more he and Mom would have been married 74 years. Now that's a long time!

DH and I had our 32nd anniversary on May 16. My parents had 36 years together before my dad died at age 60 in 1986. My mom died 12 years later at age 71.

My in-laws will celebrate their 61st this Sept. She is 75 and he is 81. (Yes, she was 14 years old when they got married!!!! He was 20.). Nowadays he would go to jail. Her parents had to sign for her to get married. Crazy, huh?

Katlan, I have a good friend who was 13 when she got married. I asked her, "How old was your husband?" She said he was "Twelve years old...." I said "WHAT???!!! He was 12 years old?!!!" She said "No, he was 12 years older than me....he was 25."

Oh, boy. He would have gone to jail....if he lived past my daddy beating him to a bloody pulp. By the time she was 19, she had 3 kids and a hysterectomy. I can't even imagine that. wow.

I'm guessing my parents were happily married about four years while my mother helped my father establish his own business. After yearning for a child, my father cheated during my mother's difficult pregnancy with me. She threw him out when I was two. The divorce was final when I was six.

DH and I have been married 48 years. Our DS and DIL have been married 13 years and have their own DS (eight) and DD (27 mos.). DH and I were both raised as 'only children'.

If our health holds out it will be 60 years this July. Parents did make their 50'th, but health was very bad for both. Not sure on DH's parents. My Aunt and Uncle made it to their either 70th or 75 had a nice get together, and my uncle went around and did not forget a name of anyone. I am lucky to remember my own at times LOL. She had a stroke, had to go into a home and he went everyday, and read the entire paper to her and would discuss the news, even though she could not talk. Such a great loving couple.
