Next cooktop question.....ugh

o.k. the new jenn air is just about a thousand dollars before tax. So that's def something to think about.

I didn't want to get a smooth top coz I've seen my sister-in-laws, mother-in-laws, my sister's, and they all look the same after so long, like burn rings right where the burners are. And scratches all over them. Plus theirs are black, so mine would look ten times as bad being white.

I was just going to get a plain ole white porcelain cooktop with coil burners for about $400 at Lowes, and now DH has an opinion, haha. He thinks it will look old and dated and blah.

Am I really going to down grade my kitchen further with a coil cooktop? I couldn't possible get a black one right?

what to do, what to do....
