I just can't stand the stuff...yucky!!!

No, you are not alone. I don't like it either. I also don't like coffee flavored anything, candy, ice cream, or anything.

That's her, drama queen. The other thing about her is she acts almost bi-polar. I don't mean to make light of a real issue, but she goes from bubbly to vicious. She can be verbally abusive to people. I guess that isn't bi-polar more like emotionally unstable. Gayle - a few of us tried the sit-down last year and in the middle of it realized we were getting nowhere. She instantly puts everything off onto other people. She has for years been the person that we all said "Yea she drives you crazy, but you can't help but like her." I don't really know how to describe it, but she started to do and say things to me and a few of our other friends that made some of us take a step back. Susan - That's really how it's been for a while now, but it sure isn't easy to maintain that smile. I can honestly say that I haven't once played into her hand by stooping to her level, but it hasn't been easy. That is why I wrote today. I really need to vent and say a few things that weren't nice. I can't talk about her to people I know because they all know her. If I do that then I am just talking behind her back the same way she is. UGH! All of a sudden I feel like I am back in Jr. High. Thanks for your support and allowing me to blow off some steam. :o)

Oh boy here goes. Rude people, me me people. I hate going to the store and people blocking the isles so you have to turn around and completely go back the way you came because no matter how many times you say excuse me they ignore you and wont move. People who cut in front of you or push you out of the way because they are much more important than you are apparently. People now a days seem to have no respect for their fellow humans. It is all about me and what I want and get out of my way no matter how polite you try to be to them. I too prefer to help animals over people. I have tried and tried to help people. I will donate to battered and abused women's shelters or homeless shelters. I will provide clothes and food. But. I have found over and over people just don't want to be helped. You offer them jobs or ways to help themselves and the excuses I have heard as to why they wont/can't work the job offered is beyond belief. They refuse to work at McDonald's for minimum wage, they can't work this or that job because they have a bad back, leg. They want offered cushy desk jobs with high paying salaries because they are too good to take a job less than that even though they haven't went to school. They'd rather beg for help than help themselves and that irritates the you know what out of me. I have people that clearly have a disability, they could qualify for it. I sent them the information offered to help them every step of the way. They won't take the the time even do it. I have a friend who husband drinks a lot. She is the only one working. They struggle month to month, they call me for money. I used to be stupid and give it to them because they have 3 kids. He'd spend it on alcohol. I would send gift cards to people instead of giving them cash, they'd sell them. I have donated my time to homeless shelters, crisis centers and so on and so forth and the same thing. There are more people who would rather live on streets asking for hand outs rather than help themselves. Battered women who kept going back to their abusers. People who have drug issues they blame on things that happened to them when they grew up. I grew up like a lot of these people. I was physically, psychologically and sexually abused growing up. I understand what they are going through. They refuse to listen, they hold that self pity and use it to their advantage. On and On, I just gave up. Animals can't help themselves and most of them are there because people are irresponsible or don't care or are just plain cruel. I would much rather spend my time and my money on something that can't help themselves and are there because of people. And honestly I believe that a lot of those animals would help themselves if they could and they are so much more appreciative of the help that they receive than most of the people I've ever tried to help. I let little things roll off my back. I don't get upset about the shape of a plate or what people choose to wear, though the pj thing does kind of bother me because it really does take literally 2 minutes to throw on regular clothes. The roadside memorials are sad and people grieve in their own way and I too always try to acknowledge them as someone did lose a life and that makes me sad for them and their families. If people want to dress their animals and it makes them happy so be it. I love to see people who truly love their animals, it tells a lot about a person on how they treat other living creatures. I do not like to see non service animals in the stores though. Where I live it is common to see people put their dogs in the grocery cart and wheel them through the grocery store and I do not feel an animal in a food store or really any type of store is sanitary. I see them even at the high end stores at the mall. They put clothes in carts and the animal is laying on them and they decide to put them back because they decided they don't want the items and now someone with allergies could possibly end up trying on that item and have a severe reaction to the hair. I am another who didn't listen to voice messages left on my phone. I am hearing impaired and sometimes it was just difficult to understand or hear them. My service provider offers voicemail to text and that was the greatest thing for me. As someone else mentioned sometimes the messages come out interesting but you can get the gist of the message.

While talking to a guy building a new home nestled among upscale houses in a nearby village, I told him that if you'd told homeowners of World War II variety that in modern days they've been taking wood chips, mixing them with glue, making them into sheets and using them to build walls of houses, they'd have laughed at you and said that no way would they consider paying their good money to buy a piece of crap built like that! It's not unusual to see buildings in Europe 300 - 500 years or more old. Have you ever seen such in our area? My shelf panels and shelves, made of sawdust and glue, have a piece of cardboard stapled to the back to keep the unit from falling over sideways. ole joyful

Ole Joyful - thanks for the further explanation. It helped. :) I may try it, except I have visions of them still dumping my change on top of the receipt into my hand anyway - in which case it's guaranteed to fall all over the pavement. Debby - it is 100% a first world problem. However, in my defense, I work hard for all of my money and I would like to keep as much of it as I can. My issue is almost exclusive to drive throughs, and one of these days my change is going to get dumped on the pavement. Chance are I'll get out to retrieve it...which will further annoy any impatient people behind me. So in response to this first world problem, I've decided I'm going to speak up and politely ask them to give me my change first.

Nope, I hate coffee. Never could stand the taste and believe me I tried. Love the smell of it, love going down the coffee aisle and picking out coffee for DH, love to smell it brewing, used to wait for him to open the can so I could get the first whiff. That said, I hate coffee flavored ANYTHING, ice cream, kalua, mocha cakes, you name it, bleeck!!

Sign me up for this club! I've TRIED to drink a whopping 2 cups of the stuff in the course of my 59 years, and couldn't choke either one down.

Can't stand it, can't understand how others can drink it.

One of my sisters doesn't like coffee either. She's a decaffienated tea drinker all the way :-) I love both!

After reading your title, I came on here to tell you that you must be!

OK, so there are a few others. I must say I don't like bitter coffee, but I like anything with coffee flavor -- Even Jamoca shakes which don't belong in the coffee catagory.

My DH also loves the smell, but doesn't like the taste.

I don't like coffee, never have, never will.

Sometimes I wish I did because people seem to enjoy it so much,

I get my kicks with tea, hot or iced.
Don't like anything coffee flavored. I have a good recipe for Mocha Saucepan Brownies. I make them for others, but when I make them for myself I leave out the coffee.

Glad to know I have some no-coffee buddies here.

I'm a Minnesota Scandinavian. I like GOOD coffee. Can't stand bad coffee and there's bad stuff out there.

I love coffee, I drink at least a pot of decaf a day.. some days I drink 2 pots.

I started drinking regular coffee when I was about 19 cause I was working third shift. I didn't like the taste of it until I added a lot of cream and sugar... eventually I quit the cream and sugar and started drinking it black. I'm back to using sweetener again and sometimes a little cream.

What??? Don't like coffee?? Huh?? We home-of-Starbucks Seattle folks just have to have our coffee.

I actually don't like Starbucks coffee though - too bitter, tastes like they burned the beans.

I like it but don't drink much,maybe 2 cups a day but not every day.DD got me hooked on White chocolate Raspberry year before last.The whole bean one from K Mart I think.I think it's one of their gourmet coffees.Delicious and I'm not even crazy about raspberries.Up until then I rarely drank coffee.After we came home we started drinking that almost every day then started drinking regular coffee too.I have to have cream and sweetener.DH always drank his black but now likes the sugar free creamer in his.We don't drink it as much in the summer as we do in the winter though.
Has anyone noticed that coffee doesn't smell the same as it use to? Or Is my "smeller" just not the same? What brand does everyone use? We use Folgers but it just doesn't smell the way it did when my mom use to make it.LOL

i drink international, so that really doesn't count, lol...
i have dh drinking green tea, at least during the week. on the weekends he gets a cup but half hot water...

Occasionally I will drink a cup of decaf, then I water it down and use a lot of cream.

The reason I drink decaf has nothing to do with caffeine. It's just that it is milder tasting.

One thing I do not want to do without when I wake up in the morning is orange juice.

Can't stand it either. I really want to drink it - it seems like it would help me be more of a morning person - but I just don't like it. I find it drinkable if it has enough sugar and flavored creamer, but I don't want all that crap in my diet, so, I guess I'll stick w/ hot chocolate :D

I used to love it.Aleast one cup in the morning but since I have reflux it just want stay down.They told me to stay away from it.Ever time I have tried it ,it just plain will not stay down.

I like coffee - used to drink it a lot at work. Since I retired, I usually drink only about one cup in the morning. I drink iced tea all day long, every day, but I do not like hot tea at all. My kids think I am weird that way.

My brother, who has never liked the taste of coffee was VP of operations for a coffee chain here in Canada. That was the standing joke in our family. Obviously having to be a coffee drinker wasn't a mandatory requirement.

Nope...I don't like coffee either. I'm the only one in my office that doesn't drink coffee. I just think it has a horrible, bitter taste. I do like cold drinks and shakes with a small amount of coffee flavoring but give me a cup of hot coffee and it just sits there.

Don't try Sonic's Mocha Java Chiller. Oh my gosh it's too good and too caloric.

Co-worker calls it crack in a cup. LOL I would love to have one everyday but have to control myself to one a week.

Don't like it. Don't drink it. I can't even stand the smell of Starbucks and we have them everywhere.

I set up a pot for DH to switch on before I go to bed. He brews it, pours it in his commuter cup and is responsible for cleaning up.

I do like coffee ice cream and a good mocha icing once in a while.

I don't understand people who claim to like coffee and then proceed to add enough sweetener to turn it into syrup and milk to make it almost as white as vanilla ice cream. What's up with that?

Like most of the other posters, I love the smell while it is in the package
or brewing but I just cannot drink it.
I can make a pot of bad A** coffee, per DH!
I drink my own brewed Iced Tea 24/7 along with Mickey D's
sweet tea.

I'm like many of the others who love the smell, but dislike the taste. On the rare occasion that I do drink it, I always hate the aftertaste it leaves in my mouth and the coffee breath. I do like Kalua and milk though, which is the only coffee flavored thing I don't mind.

When I was about in fifth grade, more years ago than I can count, I insisted to my parents that I wanted to try their freshly- brewed coffee. They gave a cup to me straight & I thought it the most awful thing I had ever tasted...well, except fish. So since that day I've never had so much as a sip.

However, I do like coffee-flavored food items such as ice cream, hard candies, etc, & I make a wonderful "coffee glaze" for angel food cake from Khulua (sp?) & whipping cream.

Give me tea, anytime!!! I, too, like the smell of coffee, but not the taste - and I don't like the aftertaste it leaves in my mouth. DH loves it and brought himself one of those fancy coffee making machines a few years ago and I haven't had a coffee out of it yet.

Don't drink the stuff, never did. My parents used to say they would get headaches if they didn't get their morning coffee, so I thought why start something that makes you have headaches if you don't have it LOL. Anyway I don't really care for the taste. My husband doesn't drink it either so that's one less thing on our shopping list.
I don't even know how to make coffee.

Another one here who loves the smell,but not the taste.I also love arbys Jamocha shake,and their Orange cream shakes are good as well.I do like coffee ice cream though,then again i just like ice cream,anytime,anywhere.

Nope! I've never had a cup of coffee and I can't stand the smell. I prefer my caffine with lots of ice and all the calories! I do like a spoonful of coffee ice cream once in a blue moon. Love those sample spoons at the ice cream shop in town!
Funny story about coffee...I met my DH 32 years ago this month when I worked in a coffee shop. He still drinks iced coffee all day long.

I'll drink coffee to give me that morning pick up, but I think it's all in my mind cause I really don't feel that extra energy most days. I'm not that fond of the taste; however, I make it mild and just add some Splenda.

Not having a sense of smell, I can't get into the aroma factor like most folks, but it appears that doesn't help with the enjoyment of the flavor. lolol

Am I the only person in the world that hates coffee...????
