What's for dinner at your house?

After reading last nights post, I really wanted a seafood quiche like Linda made. Thought I had crabmeat but I was wrong. So we're having biscuits and sausage gravy. :-( It will probably half kill me. The only sausage we had in the freezer was Jimmy Dean hot. I don't fare well with real spicy stuff.

On the stove now, simmering.

Black-eye pea soup. That will be my last pot until Fall.

I have some hard rolls to sop up the juice with.

Yummy.

Although I do like biscuits and gravy, too, but not with HOT sausage either.

Sue, I read your pressure cooker post. That sure sounds good. Isn't it a good feeling to eat veggies you've grown yourself? I gardened in Indiana, but this sandy soil and different growing times blows my tiny mind. Green beans are a March/April vegetable. It just doesn't seem right to me! Tomatoes are coming in right now here and strawberries have been in the markets for about a month! Pam, chicken marsala doesn't need anything but it's delicious self! Shirley, I think your dinner sounds good, much like we usually have. I like that pressure cooker in the microwave, too. They have them on Amazon for much less than other sites. Some are used, but who cares, right? They do a good job at that car wash for the money. Tomorrow will be the first day I go along. (Usually it's a good way to get Harry out of the house so I can actually accomplish something ;-)

I spent the morning finishing the book I was reading so I could return it to the friend who loaned it to me. then I went to the club to decorate the tables for the golf luncheon tomorrow. tomorrow is opening day and we will only play 9 holes because we play with the 9-holers on this day. Then we have a lovely luncheon so I won't be much interested in dinner tomorrow night. After we finished decorating the tables I had a short meeting with the banquet manager. Then, I headed downtown to meet some friends to go see Anna Karinana and we went out to dinner. Dinner for me was crab cakes and cole slaw. It was pretty good, not exceptional. Patti, a friend gave me the recipe for "funeral sandwiches" and that's what she called them, too. She makes them and brings them to the house for whoever is having an after funeral gathering. I laugh when I see you referring to them as such, too. I'm sure they were delicious and know you had a wonderful visit with Nita.

Glenda, I wouldn't go swimming either even if the water's heated. Getting out is no fun! A Reuben sounds good, but no sauerkraut on mine, please. Guess that just makes it a corned beef sandwich :-) Jasdip, I second Shirley's thought of all of us joining you. Good luck staying awake, but you'll enjoy the good company and music so you won't be sleepy at all (plus, you're younger :-) Shirley, that sounds good, too! I don't know why people bother eating that in the morning when it tastes so much better at night--IMHO! Sue, your leftovers are better than my dinners. I'd just love to have fried chicken and I haven't made it for a long time. Try not to fry but, dang, that sounds good. I love cold fried chicken just as much as I do warm.

Glenda, I saw the pictures you posted of your zumba class. Can't imagine getting out of the pool--brrr! I only left my camera at the motel when we went to his sister's gathering--it came home with us okay. Wish our Golden Corral was better. It's about the worst buffet I've ever eaten. Most of them are delicious. Love GC for breakfast! Sue, I used to buy Crystal Light lemonade and it was good. They sure have expanded their flavors! How'd you like the apple? Shirley, your dinner is making me drool. Man, does that sound good. I'd like that beef and gravy poured over a piece of white bread, too. Woohoo!!

Doesn't that just tick you off when you get all revved up to make something specific and your taste-buds are looking forward to it, then you can't??

I made Chicken Biryani for the first time; an Indian dish. Will make it again with some tweaking.

Chicken and wild rice casserole, lettuce salad with hard boiled eggs and carrot sticks, fresh baked dinner rolls and a slice of blueberry pie (with ice cream for DH)

We had fried potatoes with onions, biscuits and bacon. We do usually eat more sensible.. we might have a breakfast like this maybe 4 times a year. Hubby worked 7 days this week.. so I figured he deserved it.

Finishing up some pulled pork I had frozen from last Sunday. No white bbq sauce, so I tossed it with some mayo.

Just some split pea soup from the freezer. We were at a fun fundraising fajita cookout today, and we didn't eat until 2:00.

Do dinner for me was very light, and late. Glass of wine is now slipping down nicely.

Nita, celebrating cinco de Mayo early? :0 I really wanted that quiche, so crab is on my grocery list. Biscuits and gravy was quite tasty, though.

It's so fun to read what everyone's eating. I get the best ideas for future meals! Tonight I'm going to make chicken and wild rice. Thanks Nodakgal!!

Home alone last night--went and got an ice cream cone. (Shhh, don't tell anyone!) Later had a handful of nuts.

This post was from last night, so yesterday we had DD's birthday party, so just leftover sandwiches and odds and ends.

Tonight we had shrimp pasta primavera that I love!
