What's for dinner at your house?

Alex came home from his dad's earlier because he and his friends were supposed to go out. They didn't go and he's starving so I'm making chili. Didn't plan on it but he can eat it for the next couple of days too.

Meeting up with the in-laws to be tonite. They drove from Houston to Fort Worth this morning.
We missed getting to have dinner with them last trip, so we will meet with them tonite. They are the nicest people ever, and I am tickled to have them in the family.

Hi Patti, Wow, Russia!!! That's incredible. Do they speak Russian? :) Today was a gorgeous day, we actually hit 22C (72F). I did a load of whites, and damned if some of the clothes have yellow stains that look like oil. Have no idea what would do that. I even put a bit of bleach in, just to perk them up. Would that make yellow stains? We also went to the grocery store to pick up some carrots and a couple other things. When I went to put the carrots away, every one of them had black mold spots on them. I was ticked and didn't feel like going to the store, so hubby went on his bicycle. The orange coloured plastic bags they use makes it hard to see the true colour, and any blemishes. Anyway, he had no problem exchanging them.....and picked a different brand. These ones were perfect. Sorry for the long post! We just finished dinner. I made brown rice in the oven with chicken broth, carrots and onions chopped and some seasonings. Also fried a couple of pork chops and put a honey/soy sauce and ginger glaze on it. Broccoli too. Man it was good. Picked up a cherry pie and it's warming in the leftover heat of the oven.

It is pouring here. The fairway is completely under water! Obviously golf was canceled today so I went to the movies with some friends. Panera's for lunch, stopped at chico's and bought some tops and a pair of white slacks. Then went to see The Great Gatsby. We were all glad we saw it, but not really a must see. I wanted to try a new hors de' oeuvre...chicken marinated in teriyaki sauce, wrapped in bacon and skewered with pineapple so I did a few of those and stir fried the rest of the chicken with pineapple, served over rice with a teriyaki beef broth and orange rind sauce with some stir fried zucchini, yellow squash, red peppers and onions. I think I will work a little on this combo for an hors de oeuvres. Next time I will use fresh pineapple and marinate it overnight. Think it's going to be nice. When do you leave on your trip, Patti?

Hubby was playing at a street festival yesterday and then at another outdoor function last nite. (he's a drummer). He's playing at an antique tractor show today. My parents had invited us over for dinner yesterday (she wanted to make beer-butt chicken for the first time). I went anyway, and brought home a care package for hubby for him tonite. I'll scrounge something from the frig for myself. BTW, the beer can chicken is awesome!

I had a Dr's appt this afternoon and on my way home I stopped in at Sharp Shopper and happened to see in the freezer case French Toast with sausage. I hope it is as good as the picture looks! Anyway that is what I'm having. My dessert will be one of those SS ice cream bars. Can you say Sugar? Your chili sounds a whole lot better.

I've had a roast in the slow cooker since this morning, so that's supper today. I was supposed to have a dr. appointment this afternoon, which is why I put the roast one, but my test results haven't come in. bummer.

Grilled hot dogs,potato salad and fruit salad.Not very exciting but is so HOT here and I am tired.

Pizza--I made a big one last week and froze half. Too hot to be in the kitchen long. Chili sounds really good.

Too tired to fix a meal so I had a chili dog! Not bad, it was from Hardee's. I am not sure what hubby picked up for himself. Tomorrow is grocery shopping day since I couldn't go today. All your meals sound pretty good to me!

not dinner, but I have a pot of pinto's that cooked most of the day with a big ol hunk of BBQ pork shoulder with bone from leftovers.

The little ones and I will be at the ball fields so they'll have hot dogs or hamburgers...and Dad and the big one will be at the big ones game in another town...so they'll likely stop and get Popeyes.

I found a recipe for Steak and Potato pie. It wasn't too bad, but if I make it again I will bake a little longer. The meat was tender, but could have been just a bit MORE tender!

Sweet and Sour Chicken (the frozen Kahiki brand is really good), then I just mix that with 1/2 of a big bag of the BirdsEye Thai or Oriental vegetables. Super fast, easy and tastes great too.

Ham, nuked potatoes, green beans. DH will be happy with ham sandwiches for a few days and maybe I'll even make a mac salad to go with them--tomorrow.

I ordered nachos from a local cafÃ©. Beef, cheese, avocado and jalapeÃ±os. They weren't very good so I only ate half of them. I did drink 2 glasses of milk.

A hamburger patty with jalapenos in the meat. The patties came mixed that way. It was....just something to eat, nothing I'd buy again.
