big boo boo

I didn't join Girls With Goals but got right busy

on some unfinished things. 3 table runners ready

for Grace. The big boo boo was I cut all my strips

for the Christmas block swap 21/2 instead of 31/2!

That's what I get for being so smug about having

all the fabric in my stash. I might have enough to

left to make the blocks but wouldn't have enough

for the strips needed to send along with the blocks.

I did pull fabric for a baby quilt top.

Oh, groan! If only you had cut them too long instead of too short! However, you now have the satisfaction of helping the rest of us feel better about OUR boo-boos. hahaha

Gardenias will drop leaves if they experience a shock, which moving from inside to outside usually is, particularly if the night temps are colder than what they were used to. Don't panic! As long as the roots are healthy, they should continue making new leaves. Just don't overwater them while they don't have leaves, keep the soil evenly moist, and DON'T fertilize any more -- gardenias don't like heavy fertilizing unless they're large and well-established, and more fert right now will only shock them more. BTW, no gardenia will survive a z6 winter in a pot, so you did the right thing to bring them in for the winter. Good luck! Jim

So after discussing the product with the trainer at the store we decided to return it. Besides the collar rubbing my pup's neck raw, there were times when it would not work when needed. This was a common complaint of the internet and it was not a battery issue or the prongs not hitting. It just would not work all of the time. I don't normally return stuff like this and the $189 pricetag was not bugging me even if I only used it a few times. It was the accumulation of issues. The store says they will return it to company with "customer dissatisfied" as the reason. So this morning he goes outside to check out the wind. Yeah, he sticks his nose out and just sniffs with his eyes shut. The neighbors boxer pup was running circles in his yard, jumping around like a kangaroo. So naturally my 2yr shephard had to join in. He barked a little but observing what they were both doing to each other it was clear it was puppy play. As soon as we asked him to Leave It and come Inside he obeyed wagging his tail. I felt bad for neighbor pup. From my upstairs window I could see him just staring at the fence with his little head tilted. I swear his eyes were tearing up! lol I think I need to see if my neighbor would agree to take them to a dog park so they can really play together on neutral territory. That could be really fun.

LOL DIY, My hubby was asking what I was oohing and aahing about so I showed him. See I kept turning my laptop this way and that trying to find the missing shapes. I just had to tell you because for him to say something is pretty is not a common thing. I usually get a shrug. I do hope you are feeling better about your window and I have spent lots of time trying to think of a style name for this. I think there is a quilt pattern called Eye Spy. Not sure if it is the same idea as your window. I think you need to do more of these. Remember many years ago the pictures you had to look at so hard to see the REAL pattern in them. Then once you did see it it would always pop at you. Can't remember the names of them either. So keep on doing!! I have so much other work ahead of me right now I can not take the time I want to mosaic. Hoping by the end of the week I will be in better shape for some free time. So many GOOD ideas come up here. Oh, I've done that too. I know it doesn't help, but you're not alone.

My oops this morning was being too tired when I started sewing. I needed to hem a raveling washcloth & moved the setting to zigzag, looked at the foot to make sure it was the right one & hit the accelerator. Snap! It wasn't the right foot & that was my last #11 needle.

Mayme, I thought the strips were to be 2 1/2 inches too. I went back to the Christmas Swap sign ups and it says 2 1/2 inches there so I think you will be alright.

Sorry, Mayme, I thought you were talking about the extra 2 1/2 inch strips we were sending. I understand now that you were talking about the 3 1/2 inch strips actually used in the block.

I have done things like that before and it is so frustrating.

I know that hurts. I have to be careful when I am doing any kind of needlework outside of my home because I have been known to stitch it to my clothes or say something colorful to loud when I stick myself with the needle. Hang in there. You are not alone.

I had enough material to cut the 31/2 strips of my
red and green. I will need to get another background.
No loss on the red and green 21/2 as those will be for the swap.Makes me so mad when I do something like that. Glad
it was all salvaged.

My small scrap bags have lots of those boo boos! Oh, well, they all find a home eventually.
