sometimes even emails from people you know really are not from people you know! I just got an email from my nephew who often times sends me links to see his kids on little videos or picture albums. Yesterday when I got the email from him and noticed all the email addresses at the top that struck me as strange because he is like me and never leaves email addresses exposed, then on to the link, before I clicked it I hovered my mouse over it and looked down at the bottom of my browser to see if it would give the same address as the link well it did NOT, which let me know this was going to re-direct me somewhere else. That is how people end up on porn sites and infected sites with out knowing how they got there! Since I was on linux and was not afraid of infection I clicked the link and sure enough it took me to some viagra site. Which if I had gone there on my windows machines may well have tried to install some type of malware. So I emailed my nephew immediately to let him know he had a problem. He thankfully was already aware of it and was scanning with malwarebytes to see what showed up. Something had taken over his email and sent that out to everyone in his list which is why all those email addresses were showing, so it looked like it was from him but it was not really him that sent it. So anytime you have a link in an email it is a very good idea to hover your mouse over it and see if it shows the same address down below as it does in the link. This is one reason I hate those short links since you have no idea what the link is going to.

There is a very effective program that you can download for free called "Spam-Aid", it will block ALL messages that are from anyone that is not listed in your address book.It is installed on your computer as a separate program and you can use it, or bypass it to check your email the usual way without anything being blocked. Just keep in mind when using Spam-Aid to check you mail, EVERYTHING is blocked and deleted at the server except for messages from those that are listed in your address book. It is very effective at what it does, I use it and am well pleased with it. I might add that the program does have a way for those whom you know that are not listed in your address book to get a messsage delivered to you by way of a "password" which they can obtain from a clue you give them in setting up the program. Betty, I have researched this on my Vista Windows Mail system and I currently don't have access to my old Win98 system with OE. (Garage is snowed in) On the Windows Mail system I opened the addressbook and right clicked on an entry. The drop down window appeared and I selected Properties. The appearing window showed the addressee, Richard Nixon :) among other items. I just back spaced the name out and reentered it as Nixon Richard, and selected OK. The entry took up a new spot in the addressbook now under N. Perhaps this will also work with OE. When it thaws a bit I can check for you. DA

I've seen 'chewing the carpet' used to denote overacting; I'm guessing it's the same as 'chewing the scenery'. I think it's also used to mean someone so angry they are throwing a tantrum. The only things I can think of with chewing buffalo would be 1. softening the hide or 2. taking on a huge project one step (bite) at a time.
