DUH, the Butter is not SW it's Waverly Butter. I guess I picked that sample card up at Lowe's. I don't suppose any of you have used this particular paint?

Butter is a very soft pale yellow shade, while the Blonde has something of a faint gold tinge to it, so it kind of depends on what feel you want for the room.

I have RH's Butter. I had it color matched at SW's, I love it. I know its not the one you want but thought I should show it to you anyway. It does show a little different depending on the light that day.

If you like the Blonde but just want it lighter, either cut it 50% or go one up on the strip to Ivoire.

Just take the Waverly Butter paint chip to SW and have them match you a sample quart so you can try it. Better to do that than second guess yourself....

I loved Blonde too, but it was going to be darker than I wanted in my basement room....and yet Ivoire was too light. Since I had both sample paints, I mixed them about equally and loved the color it gave me. I painted some on a small piece of drywall and took it to SW for them to match the blending of the 2 colors. I call it "Partial Blonde" :-) I know I could've asked for a 50% Blonde to try, but I was already up to 30 quarts of samples in the search for all my basement colors and was tired of "collecting" them!

TraceyB do you have a pic of your basement? I am looking for a color like yours since i think Ivorie may be too light and blonde may be too dark.

alberta_rose, I just love the blonde in your foyer and living room. It is the perfect paint color for your space since you have so many wonderful windows that let in a lot of light.

How about Hunter Douglas Silouhettes in White or Comfortex Shangra-La's in white or champaigne to let in light but give privacy to keep the room never in darkness? I chose the Comfortex Shangra-La sheer horizontal blinds for my family room and they really add to the look of the room and I can keep them closed for privacy and still have my room lit up. I chose the White color for my spare room and it looks wonderful in there also.

Momee.....here are a few pics. It's hard to get a good picture in this windowless room that is representative of the color. To me, the color looks like I'd expect Blonde to look in "normal" rooms :-) While it's not the color most would choose for an exercise room, it has the potential to be a future bedroom, so I was painting with the future in mind.....
