I think I painted the dresser for my baby's nursery in cowslip. It not what I think of when I think of the yellow of your dreams, but I could be wrong. I'm not sure which shade I used. I can't find any pics that show the color accurately.

Yellow paint choice was covered on the kitchen board but I don't know how to link them. I have RH"s Butter in a significant portion of my new home. I love it. Did have it color matched at SW's. I can't say I have seen the other color but still thought I would give you an opinion about the butter. I am a color person and this yellow is just right. I haven't experienced changing throughout the day. I also have their atmosphere in all the boys bedroom and am equally pleased

Cowslip comes in many tones. I have deep cowslip4 and like it because it's has tan's in the yellow, but it's still a yellow color. A bit deeper...ok quite a bit deeper than the butter above (which is gorgeous). I needed a shade that would highlight my art and deep cowslip 4 was pulled out of the lion's mane and the cheetah's fur. It's really a soft gold in my opinion.

And here are 2 photos of Butter on opposite walls of my breakfast room (the darker sample card is of RH Saffron for the trim). Same color, same room, opposite walls. What a difference! Now, I DO like both of these incarnations of Butter. And they look to me like the Rejuvenation and Lowe's photos linked above.

But darn that butter! It also gets lemony in my kitchen--both in bright sunlight, and if I use cf bulbs. (I don't have a photo of the butter-turned-lemon for you.)

I need a never-lemony butter.

Maybe I just need to board up all the windows in my home, and control the yellow with artificial, unchanging lighting? ;-)

Igloo: I've seen your photos (that's where I first learned about cow's lip). I'm thinking cowslip 3? Actually I would need 3 cowslips (light for walls, medium for cabs, and dark for the trim). And what are Jesse and the cat staring at in that photo??

Countryfarm: What a gorgeous space!!! I like the muted look of the Butter in your kitchen area. I just need a yellow that stays that way. Maybe that isn't possible, sans the artificial environment I joked about.

I need to get to a Lowe's, but it is a 30+ minute drive with 2 noisy little boys...

I have Cowslip 4 (not Deep Cowslip 4, which is gold) in my windowless laundry room - WOW is it bright. It is fun in my laundry, but I also had it in my kitchen for 1 day and couldn't live with it. It felt like a Mexican Cantina in there - it had an orange tint in my house (lots of windows in the kitchen). So we painted the second coat on the kitchen in SW Jonquil, which is a lovely yellow, not lemony, but not orange.

There are MANY cow's lip's out there!

Riff: by chance do you have any photos?

I used Sherwin Williams Napery. I had taken home a sample of Blonde and the color adviser said that Napery was on the next strip over and that strip had more of an old world feel to it. I got it home and completely agreed. It definitely had more of an old world feel and with that, we will be using the next color down, compatible cream, for our kitchen (once I can get around to it).

For the record... Although, it really is more fun to think of it as "cow's lip", or even as a slip that a cow would wear.

Okay, I'll give it a try to show pics, never tried it before. The cowslip compared to the Jonquil is just "more" - more yellow, more vibrant.

I am trying to match the color on the last-but-one issue of Country Living. It was apparently BM Lancaster Whitewash. I got a sample of "Mixing Bowl" from Martha Stewart's line at Lowe's and I am kinda grooving on that.

My laundry room is SW Full Moon which I like but is too sunny for elsewhere. I want something a little more subdued for the main areas.

Thank you riff! I guess that isn't the yellow I am looking for. I'll have to view some Compatible Cream. I guess I'm looking for something more drab (more tan in it, maybe?).
