Diplomat Deli: Usual, their wonderful reuben!

Usually they are swamped, inside and outside, but business way off. Memorial Day weekend and lots are traveling.

Even my Merle Norman place is closed until Tuesday.

Cleaning out the fridge......left over meat for Mexican potatoes so I guess that's what we're having.

Patti- no my finger did not hurt but looked like I was a wicked witch, it was my thumb & the first joint-just looked like I had a good size pea sitting there that got bigger each day. Yes they do have meds for arthritis but all they do is help you live with the pain for a while. It does not stop the progression of the disease. I have been on Celebrex for over 15 years now. I have already had 4 knee & 5 elbow surgeries. Life does get better as you get older-Yea Right.
For dinner it was chicken breast & potato salad. I made a cho. cake with whipped cream frosting.

Happy Memorial Weekend!!!

We just had leftovers for dinner, and we invited a couple over for dessert and coffee and tea.

So I made a lemon-bundt cake, butter tart squares and took some rhubarb cake from the freezer. That should satisfy everyone's sweet tooth!

Glenda, that sounds wonderful. I love corned beef--you can have my sauerkraut, though. The stores around here are crazy busy with people getting ready for the weekend. I'm staying in for a few days.

Georgysmom, waste not, want not. Since I got that big ole fancy refrigerator with 4 doors, I waste a lot less food. I can see what needs to be used--and I'm very grateful for it. What all is in your Mexican potatoes? Are they like loaded baked potatoes?

Mary, ouch again!! Glad it isn't hurting. Got any cake left over, per chance? :-) Your dinner sounds delish! And, yep, getting old isn't for sissies. Didn't realize how true that saying was till I got to that place :-)

I had a leftover piece of meatloaf, along with my corn chowder I made today.

Thermometer read 29 degrees this morning here in Ohio. Only supposed to get down to 32 tonight.

stopped by Neals I had the jumbo shrimp and baked sweet potato, he had chicken fried ribeye steak, fried okra, black eye peas. All yummy.

I made myself a chef salad. I only had ham and eggs and cheese to put on it thought.

Oh Boy, it's pouring down rain here (all day) and I'd thought we were going out for Mexican. About 4:00 DH shared that he had a 5 gal bucket of live steamers in salt water that he'd picked up from his brother this morning and somehow had forgotten to mention. (manila clams)

I had bread, sliced tomatoes, some fruit and cheese to put out, plenty of butter for dipping - the clams were steamed at the overhang of the garage over propane. Clams are long gone but a couple of friends he called still here, sitting on lawn furniture in my open garage, visiting, finishing a beer, watching it rain :)

Patti. Mexican potatoes is nothing more than a taco but served on top of a baked potato instead of in a taco shell....ground beef mixed with taco seasoning, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, shredded lettuce and shredded cheddar cheese. Then I pop it in the microwave to melt the cheese. Sometimes I'll put some salsa on top. It all depends on what's in the fridge. It was rather chilly here today so it hit the spot.
