Not very hungry. Just scrambled a couple of eggs. Wish I could have had some of your potato salad and tomatoes to go with it.

It was 93 a couple of hours ago, but a 'cold' front moved through and it's now 84. Never thought I'd rejoice over 84.

Gadgets, if you saw how big that container of potato salad, you'd know why you'd be very welcome--to a LOT of it :-)

Wish we'd get a cold front. We had a little rain earlier this afternoon, but we need a lot more.

It is a hot day today in Texas the nineties still right now. The pit is smoking those ribs and I am doing oven roasted tiny baby red potatoes I picked up fresh out of the dirt at the farm store yesterday, along with tomato and cuke salad with the veggies also fresh from the farm.

My mouth is watering in anticipation.

We had a drizzle of rain but it was enough to drop the temperature. Tomorrow is going to be another record.....32C!!! Crazy.

I did a beef roast in the slow cooker today. A new recipe.
The recipe called for putting sliced onions and potatoes in with the beef, but I don't like potatoes done in the slow-cooker.
So I mashed potatoes and cooked carrots to have with the beef.

I cooked up all of my potatoes, as they were sprouting, and they wouldn't last much longer in the heat we've been getting. So I don't have any left to make the potato salad, that I've been wanting to make. And potatoes are $4.50 for 10lb. I'm not going to pay those prices, so we'll eat other starches or get lucky and they will come on sale.

Made 2 loaves of bread so a fresh slice with stewed rhubarb and that's dessert!

We had ribs,baked potato, salad and Rasberry Bluberry pie for desert. Never heard of the pie before but it was good with a scoop of vanilla icecream. Not sure where wife got the receipe.

We ordered lunch out at work, Firehouse Grill subs. I ate half for lunch and half for dinner while at work. Now I'm eating a small tortilla thing Alex made for dinner here at home, ground beef, green onions and soy sauce wrapped in a flour tortilla.

Looks like a few of us had ribs tonight. Ravencajun, your farm fresh veggies almost made me hungry again. I need to go back to the farmer stand for more tomatoes. They were so good.

Jasdip, I don't like potatoes in the crockpot either--caarrots either, for that matter. I'm hoping for more rain here tonight.

Nod, that pie sounds delicious. I haven't heard of that combination either, but I bet it was yummy!

We had a big meal this evening. Grilled chicken, little smokey links, and steaks. We also had corn on the cob, baked beans, cheese potatoes, cottage cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, radishes, yeast rolls, Hummingbird cake with cream cheese frosting, angel food cake with strawberry frosting, strawberry pink stuff, fresh peaches, chocolate chip cookies, lemonade, iced tea and pop to drink. I may have forgotten a couple of things.

LOL, Sue! What could you have possibly forgotten? Love that hummingbird cake--any left over? (hint, hint) Your family sure can't complain about going away hungry with all that good variety!

I just love reading Sue's menus - all my favorite foods! I am most impressed by her pie-baking. I have made many pies in my lifetime, but just about every one was a challenge.

Thank you ladies. Some of the kids ate leftovers here today. It is another hot day again here. Still have dessert and some meat left.
