Want gray paint for master bedroom...suggestons/ pics please

I am trying to decide on a mid-tone gray paint with bluish or no color overtones. I do not want it to look light blue or worse lilac. My new comforter set is pewter with silver and beige accents. We have two sets of double windows one facing west and one facing north. Our moulding is stained cherry our doors are painted off white.

Right now in the running I have Behr Sparrow and Pewter Mug, Olympic Secret Passage, Valspar Urban Sunrise and Polished Silver. I am leaning toward one of the two Valspar colors. Does anyone have any of these colors or another suggestion? I live in a rural area, I will most likely get the paint from Lowes or Home Depot. Thank you.

There is a thread titled "greys" in the Gallery that has many pictures and names of greys, submitted by folks here. You can access the Gallery by a link center bottom, AND upper right on our main page. While you're there, snoop around as there are many gorgeous threads there full of eye candy and inspiration pictures.

I would try to see what the color of the undertone is in the comforter and then find the darker or lighter tint or shade.

Hi and welcome. One of the most popular and 'goes with everything' colors is BM Gray Mist. The color you chose would really would depend on your furniture color though. Oak? Black? White? Cherry? I would use the blue in the rug as the pop of color for the room and go with something else for the walls. Blue walls might drown out the beautiful rug.

Hi! palladian is a tad more blue than BM wythe is. wythe is more green. . I have it in my entire basement. I'm attaching a pic of my basement bath. I have very similar tile as the op, I am going with SW contented, which is very similar to my wythe, it is a blue/green mix which leans more green. I have found in my bathroom that "more green" works better than "more blue". Acutally, the only reason we are not using wythe in our bath is because our bath opens to SW bamboo shoot in our master bedroom, and the Contented paint is listed on a brochure as being a match for bamboo shoot. wythe blue, oh how I love thee! LOL!

I love, love, love, your bathroom! Love the potty behind that wall, love the color of your walls! Love the black accents and love the silver/nickle towel holder and shower rod. I would frame out the mirror in white to match your trim. I would add a nickle finish soap dispenser and a small mirror on a stand to look at the back of your hair. Love the idea of an orchid in a glass vase. I would add a black and white toile shower curtain. Your look is classic and timeless, and fresh. Don't add much more. Love it uncluttered.

Dear, posters may still try to help you here. Yes but in either the paint or decorating forum she would have gotten advice from those who live and breathe decorating and color decisions on a daily basis versus this forum where most are more concerned with the nuts and bolts of building a new home. The paint forum actually has color professionals who hang out there and the decorating forum have designers. Hence the recommendation she post in those forums.

Check out BM Revere Pewter. It's a warm beigish gray. It works equally well with beige and gray accents and looks stunning with black. I recently painted DS's room that color, just hung some pictures today with black frames and I'm loving the look. Home Depot can color match any color for you. In fact, I have them make up all my Benjamin Moore samples for me, though when I order, I get the BM Aura paint.

Check out BM Cumulus cloud - no blue or purple undertones. No beige/brown undertones either.

Another vote for Revere Pewter. We recently moved to a new house and I will be painting our master in that color....had just done it in the old house and I LOVED it!! With white/off white woodwork, it's stunning....and it is a warm gray, and we did the ceilings at 25 percent. Seriously makes that crown stand out! Our dark wood furniture looks great with it, also. I miss that room! Wish I had a picture....sorry!

Our bedroom is painted Owlet by Martin Senour, a mid-tone grey with no blue or purple undertones. It looks beautiful with dark wood and light bedding.

Thanks for the suggestions. I looked at pics on the internet for Cumulus Cloud and that looks good. Next I will check out Revere Pewter and Owlet. I have looked at tons of pictures but it is still hard to tell about undertones unless you can ask the person. And I know I should get the test pots and do but we live about 75 minutes away from any of the big box stores and such, so I really just want to pick a color and then go get it next time I have to make a trip up there. I saw some nice pics of Valspar "Flagstone" and I have that chip here too. I like it but it may be a bit dark. Thanks for all the help.
