Once again I have been gone most of the day. The girls and I got the decorating done. For lunch I took ham sandwiches, bananas, and Teddy Grams. Cheryl and I had iced tea. Then Cheryl and I had to make a trip to Noblesville, so when I got home I just fixed myself an Old Fashioned lunch meat sandwiches, a glass of milk and some cinnamon graham crackers. Tomorrow I will be off and running again. :)

I made bretzel rolls today...two recipes. One dozen for me and one dozen for SIL...He loves them and his birthday is this month. We had Wine and Dine last night and I left enough to bring home for dinner tonight. DH will just have a hamburger.

Our landlady and I were eyeing the mulberry trees, planning on cutting them down. A neighbour came over, and wielded his chainsaw and down they came, with a lot of chopping the roots with the axe (by me). I was also encouraging it to come out of it's hole by sitting on it. heehee She and I then cut all the branches into manageable lengths and bound them up for yard waste removal. And the trunks were cut down to size.

We then dug out some daylilies and transplanted them, and some other yard work.

Dinner was 2 leftover burgers and a pasta salad with peppers, olives, lovage, baby spinach and some feta cheese. Kind of a combination of greek and pasta salads. :)

I am so envious of all Glenda's restaurants! Today I slept late, took my mother and then my sister places and took care of things for them. Catching up on laundry. Made bread dough. I am fixing drumsticks and salad for my supper.

What used to be The Mother Daughter Banquet at the church is now called "All Daughters Banquet". It's tonight at 6:30p. Lasagna is on the menu I hear, plus some real fancy cupcakes that Mom helped bake but some other lady decorated. Mom says they are beautiful. I'm hungry, I skipped lunch today.

Patti-a western is a egg omelet with onion, peppers & ham. I guess it is a northern thing (CT).
I fixed what we were having for dinner before work, it was done by 6:00am. Had meat loaf, mashed potato & onion rings.

It is looking like the stormy weather they predicted may be on the way in, supposed to be stormy for a few days with lots of rain.
I am hoping my outdoor gardening guys can manage to get the yard work finished up before it starts.

I think I will pan fry a couple of nice thick bone in pork chops, some brown and wild rice, and green beans.

Sue, as much as I hate decorating, it does sound like fun. I haven't had old fashioned loaf in such a long time. Can't eat much lunch meat stuff these days with Harry's problems. Sounds great, though!

OK, Glenda--I give up! What's a camel rider's sandwich??? Here's the recipe for the popover pizza I made:

Popover Pizza (Becky@MiMi's)

1 lb. ground beef (I used about 1-1/2 lbs.)
1 large onion, chopped
1 can tomato sauce (15 oz.)
1-1/2 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
Sliced mushrooms (I omitted)
1/2 c. water
8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, sliced (I used shredded)
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1 c. flour, sifted
1 Tbsp. oil
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 400. Grease a 13x9" pan. Brown meat and onion in a large skillet. Drain fat. Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning and water. Add mushrooms and simmer 10 minutes.

Combine eggs, milk, oil, flour and salt. Pour meat mixture into prepared baking pan. Top with mozzarella. Pour egg mixture over all. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over egg mixture. Bake for 30 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

Georgysmom, did you mean pretzel rolls, or is bretzel something different? Are they hard to make. Wine and dine sounds so fun--and I'm glad you had some leftover!

Jasdip, girl, you are going to be aching tomorrow! That was a ton of work. I imagine it looks really pretty in your yard now. Get some rest now.

Pam, I know what you mean--I'd just love to have half the great restaurants Glenda has around her place. You got a lot accomplished today--and put me to shame.

This is the one I had saved

Popover Pizza (Recipes from Home A Collection of Favorites Compiled by Ruth J Steinfeldt)
1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage (I used sausage)
Enough pepperoni to make one layer over sausage
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 cups of spaghetti or pizza sauce
16 ounces of mozzarella cheese
2eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup flour
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Brown ground beef or sausage (if you add onion add to the meat while browning). Add spaghetti or pizza sauce and mix well. Place mixture in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over meat mixture. Combine eggs, milk, oil, and flour and mix to well blended. Pour batter over the mozzarella cheese layer. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over batter. Bake at 400 degrees F for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares. "Flip over" or "Pop over" when serving so meat and cheese are on top.

Bretzel rolls are like pretzel rolls. Not difficult to make at all and oh so good! If you would like the recipe, let me know.

Got four ears of corn today, did them in the microwave, but they were not very good...I should have waited for our local corn as it is wonderful, but not ready until August, of course. These tasted as though they had been picked too long ago and were not tender. Oh, well, I staved off the hunger demons with a slice of braunscheiger (sp) and left over half of a burrito, and a glass of wine. What a combination!

Mary, aren't you smart to have dinner ready. I must admit I'm way too drowsy in the morning to face making meatloaf, though. Aha! A western omelet--now I get it!

Raven, you should write food critiques. Your adjectives describing food always make my mouth water....nice thick bone-in pork chops, for example. Yum!

Glenda, now THAT's a sandwich. I like your popover pizza recipe better.

Thanks Georgysmom but I'm not very good with breads unless it's quick bread. I think yeast and I are "allergic" to each other.
