The Bedroom is Done!!! Before & After pics!

With one hour to spare.

As you may recall, my dh set off on an international business trip last Friday. As soon as that plane lifted off, I was off and running. He is due to walk through the door in 55 minutes! Thank goodness for the flight delay coming home.

I'll just post my before and afters. Thanks for all the advice during this week.

I went with BM Willow Creek on the walls, White ceiling. I left the rock wall. I did the master bathroom too while I was at it. I painted it in BM Nimbus, same paint strip I've become very attached to lately. I used white sheers and also white panels on the window, and all white bedding.

I think I have achieved the "boutique hotel" look I was going for. Hope you like the pictures...

Wow! You nailed it! I particularly like the lamps, tables mirrors and art behind the bed. Oh and the wall color and the bedding. I think he is going to flip!!

I will try to answer all your questions, but first I must thank citymomof3! I just went down into the basement to check what the color name was and found it flooded with an inch of water! So I just finished calling the plumber! :-( Not sure what the problem is, but I am sure it will be expensive! So.....will get the color name for you, but probably not today! Red, actually I have been starting to think the same. At first it seemed so bare, but after living with it for a week or so, it doesn't seem so bare. Will perhaps wait a little longer before deciding to add more. Sue, no I did not make the quilt. It was a lucky find at Penny's. I say lucky because lavender/purple is NOT the in color right now. Here is a close up of it. organic....I hate to admit it, but it is just a plain ceiling fan with a round globe. I am looking for a different light fixture or globe/shade for it. We need to keep the fan as this room has no heat and the ceiling fan does help circulate the warm and cool air depending on the season! hoosiergirl, yes I just love the set. I was so excited when we found it. There are 6 pieces altogether. The wash pitcher and basin, and mug a "slop" jar where the dirty water was poured into, and chamber pot and lid that was in the carpet picture. bungalow house, our home is 140 years old and guess what? I only have a trap door in the floor to get down to the basement, so....Here's hoping the plumber calls soon!!!! I guess I am on my way out to the shed to get the shop vac and start vacuuming up water and then bringing it up the ladder a 5 gallon bucket at a time! Gotta love these old houses! Marylu

Great job! For some reason, I think another framed picture over the bed would be good, or even something round but in a similiar size in the center. And how about a nice green plant on your dresser (artificial probably best) to add height, instead of blue candle. Could you get another little bench and put the two at the foot of the bed? Not sure about a rug on top of carpet - why bother? There are so many other things to spend money on. I would instead add more rattan like your blinds and lampshades. Wishing your husband restfulness and tranquility during his illness. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the nice comments! Yeah our little Schnauzer is such a sweety! Marti, I got the new comforter set at Marshalls. I don't remember the brand name though. It shows up in these pictures as having a blue tint to it, but, it is a true sage color. I got the dog prints at Hobby Lobby! Love em!

Pinkmountain-- we used American Tin Ceilings. These are actual tin tiles, and the quality is really nice. They have a variety of patterns and finishes-- check them out! Kate, hah, everyone is an art critic :) As this an Airbnb we aren't using expensive or original pieces as someone could take them and they would be difficult to replace. The artwork is for pops of color. Sorry they don't do it for you but I happen to think they work in the room.

Thanks, and regarding the art behind the bed...those are photos I took on our trip last fall. Those are doors on the island of Mykonos. I blew them up and printed them at work on the poster printer. here they are:

I love it! It is very spa-like. I'm sure he'll love it and think you're a miracle worker for getting it all done in one week.

The end tables, lamps, mirrors and artwork over the bed really work well together and I love your bedding! Where did you get those great ruched pillows?

That room just looks as if you can feel a soft breeze blowing through it. Just wonderful.

Thanks everybody. My dh was very very surprised. I lured in him in there in the dark....he thought he was going to help me choose between the paint samples on the wall! Once in the room, BAM, I turned the lights on and he was just so surprised. And of course the bathroom was a welcome surprise too. When he left it had a drywall patch that needed to be completed. I did that and he was shocked that it was so good. I also had replaced all the door knobs on the 2nd floor (we had bought them but never got to it) as well as the hinges. So I do believe he was extremely happy to get some of those tasks crossed off the list.

However, I then went on to break the bad news...I discovered that the toilet in our hall bathroom must have been leaking for some time now. There was a large puddle on the floor, and dining room ceiling had two big spots. Well, at least it is a ceiling that needed to be repainted. The bamboo floor is trashed, He is currently up there ripping up the floor and baseboards....just found mold. Hopefully some good doses of mold and mildew stuff will do the trick while it is drying out.

Back to the bedroom....the bedding is from Home Goods.

Better go, lots of growling and sighing coming from the bathroom....

Sorry about the bathroom floor. It is always something isn't it? UGH.
