Mmmm...that sounds good.

DH is making the one and only thing he knows how to make: Chinese Chicken Salad. He puts in 1 head of lettuce and a 6 lb. can of mandarin oranges and mixes with his hands. Honestly, it's so unappealing to me, but he loves it. Do you think that's enough oranges?

No idea about dinner, depends if hubby makes it to the store.

We had summer temps here today too Shirley. Yuck. Hot, hazy, humid and threatening t-storms.

I made taco salad and we enjoyed it immensely!

I will have leftovers, not too hungry though. It is 82 out right now. Some of the kids have arrived to work a bit on the chicken house. They have already had supper, they might have dessert later.

Two yummy fried catfish tacos for me!

We had some nice weather today and tonight we had steak, baked potato and spinach.

It was another stormy wet day here. I put a corned beef brisket in the slow cooker earlier today and will add cabbage to that.

We are having Country Fried Steak w/gravy Mashed Potatoes and salad...It has been a nice day here in AL;

Socks: As I read "Chinese Chicken Salad", I was thinking "I might want the recipe". As I kept reading, I changed my mind. Lol

Jasdip: When I worked, if someone did a 'Wendys run', I'd get a taco salad, having the chili on the side (plus an extra chili). I'd put half on a plate w/chili on top for lunch, and take the rest home for supper. Don't know if they still have it on their menu.

Sue: Leftovers from one of your family get togethers would be a real treat. I'll take them every time.

Glenda: I have never had a fish taco, but I think I'd like one from the place you get yours.

Pam: I drool every time I read someone had steak. Enjoy a bite for me.

Raven: I love cabbage. Sounds delicious with your brisket.

Orchid: I wouldn't have minded eating at your table tonight.

Old Fixer: Can I have some ribs? Also, does a person eating with you get to have TWO desserts? Count me in.

Getting ready to take the chicken off the grill. Spatchcocked and rubbed with spices. Baked sweet potato wedges and slaw.

Socks....just what does that Chinese chicken salad have in it? Lol, that much of the canned manderines seems......like a lot!

Well, it was "clean the fridge' offerings tonight. I had a bag of frozen chop suey that became liquid when thawed, so that was soup; mixed greens with Italian dressing, a couple slices of green pepper, a slice of Dubliner cheese, toasted English muffin. I think I'll top that off with a marguirita now.

Andersen's split pea soup, buttered roll and a salad. And a real Coke, with sugar. I'm regretting the Coke, been dizzy and trembly.

Rhizo: Don't have to ask what spatchcocked means this time. I really like your choice of sides.

Phyllis: 'Clean out the fridge' nights leads to some interesting combos, but I love them anyway. Downside is that the refrigerator looks so empty.

Deeby: Split pea soup is on my list to make some time in next couple of weeks. One of my favorites. Too bad about the Coke results.

This was my "cooking" day. By that I mean I microwaved some Stouffers dinners, let them cool and then pureed them. For this weeks meals, I will have lasagna and also fettucini with chicken and broccoli. My neighbor gave me four delicious peaches she bought at a roadside stand so I pureed them and a large can of drained pears. I didn't get around to making another big pot of oatmeal yet.

So there's my meals for the week :-) And believe me, all of your meals sound a whole lot better. But, I will have company all next week so I WILL BE COOKING!

Well, he didn't make the Chinese Chicken Salad as he did before. He said it was too sloppy that way! Really? He put all the ingredients in separate storage bowls and we can make individual salads that way tonight and over the next day or so. He spun out the lettuce in the salad spinner, which he hadn't done before either. Can you tell he learned to cook in a fire station?

I worked really late, so I grabbed a chicken quesadilla from the Taco Bell drive thru. DH had eaten barbecue earlier.

Patti: It's great that you can joke about your Stouffer meals. I pray that soon you'll be able to eat normal foods.

Socks: That explains a lot, especially amounts.

Kittiemom: Aren't you glad for drive thrus? Especially when you are tired and/or running late.

Kathsgrdn: What brand was it? I like Red Baron. One of these days I might branch out to a different brand.
