You saw LazyPups frog-now the rest of the story

Previously I posted some photos of my frog sitting in his directors chair....

The Frog now has a miniature film camera (its a real camera- 8mm film SLR) and a "Press Card" hanging around his neck.

I took him out on my front sidewalk today for a field test. The frog is sitting in his chair, on the wagon, with his camera and press card, but I also put my Pentax DSLR on a tripod beside him, with a remote control cable from the camera to the frogs hand so it looks like the frog is working the camera.

I then sat back with a wireless remote control for the camera.

I parked the wagon on the edge of the yard near the street and set it with the flash so when cars drove by ppl saw the frog taking their picture.

Here is pic of frog on the wagon:

And here are a couple of the photos that frog took...LOL

(NOTE that frog has his own signature for the photos)

I am now going to make a flat platform on top of the wagon racks for frog & the camera, so I can put my lawnchair, camera bag and coffee thermos in the wagon.

Then I am making signs for the sides of the wagon that will say.... "Lilly Pad Magazine - NEWS VAN" With a picture of the Frog and on the bottom it will say.. Lilly Pad Publishers.

I am then printing his photos and making a small 4x6 album that we can show ppl that frog really does take photos.

It is really fun to see the reaction of ppl when they see frog working the camera....LOL

I know exactly how you are feeling. .I used to never think I could shoot a person. .I don't feel that way anymore. My parent's lived on the family farm that my grandpa bought back in the early 1900's. .My dad died of a heart attack. .right after he died and my mom had to come back to the city house to stay off and on. .people started stealing. .they even stole my dad's truck, backed it right up to the back door and loaded it with things out of the house, along with their two other friends and their trucks. We built these huge fences and gate out of oil field pipe. .they just tied onto it with chains and drug it out. .we could not keep the theives out. .then one day they burned the house to the ground along with the garage and tried to set the big really old barn on fire but it didn't burn for some reason. So now that is all we have left, the barn. .I hate thieves. I am so glad someone was watching out and caught your's before he cut down any more of your trees. Debbie. .

That's so funny. I don't know how your mind must work to think of it though :0 Bet you were laughing hysterically! BTW, I like your house and your pretty blue sky! Yes you need a sign, but you'll probably have a traffic jam in your neighborhood.

LOL! Nice! I like your ideas.

Do you have a lot of time on your hands!!? LOL
    Pretty clever idea.

This is GREAT! You are BRILLIANT! (I hope I can get my DH into thinking about doing fun stuff like this when he retires soon!)

Love your beard, Lazypup. I didn't know you were a guy. Looks like you have a great sense of humor too.

I wonder if you should maybe blur the people's faces? I don't know...just a thought. As I looked at the pictures I was struck by how much the houses look like where we live, then I looked at your profile and you might be my neighbor...HAHAHA!

    arkansas girl,

When I was in the Air Force I completed the "Air Force Still Photographers Specialty Course", which covered all aspects of photography from point & shoot general interest to News photography, industrial photography, Studio photography (portrait, fashion and products), survelance photography, aerial photography, including Forensic photgraphy, to document crime scenes or aircraft and industrial accidents and damage in shipment claims, as well as all the darkroom procedures to process roll film, sheet film, slides & movie film.

Because our duties involved working with the base newspaper and base police as well as having access to highly classified areas, I can assure you I had a very good education is the legal aspects of photography.

In this case there is no need to blurr the ppls faces because there is no "expectation of privacy" when riding in an open vehicle on a public thoroughfare.

You can also shoot pictures of ppl on private property providing you are firmly footed on the ground and standing on a public thoroughfare, so if you want to nude sunbathe, you better do it in the back yard where I can't see you from the street...LOL

And in regards to us being neighbors, I grew up in Salem,Oh before I went in service. Since then I have lived in 8 differnt states. I was back in Youngstown, Ohio up until two years ago, when I moved here to Chicopee, Massachusetts.

You grew up in Salem, Ohio? Oh, small world. We lived just below Salem in Greenford between route 14 and 165(but our mailing address was Salem) until moving to Georgia in 2002.

I love your picture taking frog. We did crazy things in our front yard up there in Ohio too. We had a twin bed and a toilet....flower bed with bedside commode. At Christmas Santa was sleeping in the bed and a large wooden reindeer I had made was "using" the toilet. So many people stopped to laugh and take pictures. It even made the news.

Wow..talk about a small world...if you go west out of Greenford on 165 for exactly one mile you come to the jct of Middletown Rd, beside Bob Shepherds farm and the electric substation. Turn left on Middletown Rd and go north exactly one mile till it dead ends with Beaver Creek Rd (or maybe I got those road names reversed...LOL), and at that dead end my Grandads farm lane turned left when the road turned right..

I spent every summer and every weekend at Grandads farm. If you had anything to do with horses in those days you may have known my Grandad, Charles Sheen, who was the best blacksmith within 100 miles.

Now talking about silly things. In the early 70's I was living here in Massachusetts and I drove a Plymouth Duster 340 muscle car. I had a CB radio with a Public Address system and a loudspeaker under the hood. I was working in a hardware store on High Street in Holyoke and there was a municipal parking lot on the opposite side of the street with metered parking.

i used to park my car in the front row right by the sidewalk, drop a nickle in the meter, which was only good for one hour, then I went across the street to work. During the day I would watch the meter from the store and when the little red flag came up on the meter I would take out a walkie talkie and talk to the radio in the car, which then came out the loudspeaker...I would watch for some nice looking, unsuspecton senior citizen to be walkng by and I would say....."Pssst Pssssssssssst, excuse me" The senior would stop and look around and I would say, "Pssst, please, can you help me,,,my driver has gone off and let my meter expire,,,if the cops see it they will tow me away....I hate to get hauled in by the cops,,,could you please put a nickle in my meter?????"

And nearly every time, the person would look at the car and see there is no one in it, the meter is expired and they would slowly take out a nickle, put it in the meter and walk away with a little smile...

So you're in Mass not NE Ohio, you could change your profile info? Still those houses look like Youngstown don't they!

I'd LOVE to move from here too! I absolutely hate this area! 6 months of "winter" is NOT for me! I'm basically a beach bum but Arkansas was awesome too! But such is life!

Oh my goodness, my hubby Ivan and I sure do remember the Shepherds farm and Charlie Sheen too. One of my students last name was Sheen, so he was probably one of Charlie's greatgrandsons. I can't remember the little boy's first name, but that was so many years ago. Ivan was in the Reserves with Charlie Sheen.

We sure don't miss Ohio. Hated the long, long winters, ice and snow. We said when we retired that we wanted to move to Georgia. It took us a while, but God finally got us here.

If you ever traveled Lisbon Road between 165 and 14, you may have seen our place. We had a large white cat shaped sign with the name of our property "Woof and Purr Acres". Ivan's brother still lives in Greenford, as do many of our nieces and nephews. Is your granddad still living? If so, maybe he will remember my hubby, Ivan Maretich.

    Linda,
Grandpa Charles Sheen, or "Pappy" as we all affectionately knew him, passed away in January of 1965 and he was succeeded by 10 children.

Charlee Sheen was the youngest of five brothers and five sisters and he now lives in Columbiana,,and believe it or not, he is married to my high school sweetheart...LOL (She and I broke up when I went in the Air Force in April of 66, and she ended up marrying Uncle Charlie three years later. She is two years younger than me and gets mad as a wet hen when I address her as Aunt Lois....LOL).

Charlie was in the Army Reserve Unit that met at the Salem Armory from late 63 till late 64.

Now for an update on Frogs photo adventures. I am now in the process of totally reworking the wagon for Frog. When its done it will be the "Frog Pond Gazette" NEWS VAN- Frog will be seated on a high pedastal chair with a pedastal camera mount- (I just finished the chair tonight and I need to get a couple more fittings to mount the chair and camera pedastals)

There is a large TV & Radio studio facility right at the bottom of the hill near my house. I can't wait till I get this done so I can go down there and tell them I have a news man who wants to meet them...LOL.

I can't wait to see the pictures of the new setup and to hear what happens when you go to that TV station and tell them that you have a news man that wants to meet them. Be sure to come make a new post and let us know.
