Exterior window shutters
Comments (2)Often I have made the house siding one color and the trim around windows (if there is any) a different color and the shutters a third color. For example I have done many houses a creme color, trim white and shutters antique blue. So, possibly a trim color around the windows that you are discussing might work. Also, generally when planning windows the acceptable method is to have the tops of the windows on the same level and the bottoms of different windows may not match up if we are using different sizes. If the tops line up, then putting shutters on all of them generally looks just fine. I suggest if you don't have access to a computer program to do this, draw everything to scale on graph paper, make a bunch of copies, and get some colored pencils and color away with your different schemes. You can get a pretty good idea of how it will look with this method....See MoreRemoving shutters and replacing windows...what about moulding/trim?
Comments (2)IMO those windows do not suit this house. I am glad you are removing those silly shutters. What are the larger windows going to be like? I can’t see that there is much space at the top of those windows for larger trim on the main floor but you could add some to the upper windows....See MoreShutters on Windows with Exterior Trim
Comments (2)I don’t think shutters are going to work for you. The only windows possible are the garage windows and the one on the porch. Start with your window boxes first and see if that will give you the color you need....See MoreExterior window trim to match shutters?
