Advice: Stained Plantation Shutters, painted window trim

Help! My husband and I need advice on plantation shutters. We have windows that are painted a creamy white to match the crown and baseboard in our home. We want to install plantation shutters, but are considering a dark stained shutter (to complement our wood floor and mahagony kitchen). One of the considerations is that the plantation shutters will clearly be seen from the exterior of the house, where we have no white at all.

Is it appropriate to use a dark, stained plantation shutter set within a white window (in a room with white crown and baseboards) and dark cabinets. Also, the wallcoverings are mostly grasscloth in warm colors.

Thanks!
