What are you doing your slipcovers in? Anjou Pear is a gorgeous color but if you're champing at the bit to buy a rug, you should first have an idea what your accent colors are going to be.

Parma, the material for the slipcovers is a canvas material, they offer another one with diamond weave and I keep going back and forth as to whether I should do the Latte color or not.

Room with Anjou Pear that I painted last night, see pics below for old color and what I have to work with. I am unsure of what would be a good accent color.

Anjou Pear

This is the room I am re-doing (shown with Marblehead Gold) but painted that room last night, and dining room will be the same Anjou Pear, and there will be no rooster decor. I'm having a difficult time finding artwork too!!

I prefer the one on the right. Seems to have stronger color close to the paint. Everything is so pretty. Your room is going to be gorgeous.

I like them all, but the 3rd is my favorite - as it has a bit more color. Where did you find/shop for these rugs?

The rug on the right would pick up the color from your dining room. It looks like a nice color, doesn't it blend well with the Anjou or are you just tired of it? Are you keeping the dining room rug?

I'm sticking to what I said earlier. Figure out your accent colors. You can usually pluck them from a rug or a favorite piece of art. The first rug is so similar to the drapes that it doesn't add anything.

I love the one on the right. I think the one on the left may look a bit washed out on your floor, but the other is just right with your beautiful wall color.

I am still at a loss for an accent color, would Red be too much? It would help tie in both rooms. I hope to have the entrance to the rooms trimmed in molding in the next 6 months. (see more rug and art choices below)

Tinker-overstock.com, these are wool rugs 4x6 for $139 and $2.95 to ship, Superchick posted about an entry rug. Now she rec'd her rug (ivory/beige color) amd she says it appears if hers might have been a floor model because it looks like it had grease on it. I have read a lot of the reviews on the different rugs and they seem to be positive.

Parma-Yes, tired of the orange!!, it was fun for a year, but now I want to show some continuity, it's funny because the dining room looks green now because of the way the light hits it, but I still love the color. Yes, keeping the dining room rug (dark as photos) I did was changed the way the table is facing, so the ends are at the window and the back of the couch, I'm sure it's not intended that way, but it looks so much better and gives us much more room.

Art, for some reason I am drawn to these birds, I think my grandmother had these in her home when I was little or something similiar, they are 16" wide and 35" long, thinking for each side of the hutch

Red wouldn't be too much. I love rust colors like in the second one, also.

I'd try to pick a rug that had an accent color in it that is close to the dining room drapes to tie the room together.

I agree that the rug should pull some color from the DR drapes. I'm kinda drawn to #6 with the black, it will ground the room (not so matchy matchy to drapes) and will tie in with dark stair rails.
