Cream cheese stuffed jalapeno popper dip?

I'm getting kind of burned out on the Bloomin' Onion Dip I usually dip them in.

We use Ranch Dressing. But oh, do I love my Poppers.

I figure the dip is already on the inside. I eat them without dip.

I have done them over the fire. Mine are a little different though. Here is what I do 1. I stuff the peppers with Cream Cheese. 2. I coat the outside of the pepper with olive oil. 3. Then I cook the peppers in a fry pan (mine is cast iron over the camp fire). 4. The outside of the pepper will blister and turn black. This tastes awesome.

Hi! I loved reading all of your ideas. I decided to give freezing stuffed jalapeño peppers a try. A few weeks ago I picked several jalapeños from my garden. I cut them in half, cleaned them out (as usual), stuffed them with a cream cheese / cheddar jack cheese mix, and froze them. Yesterday I took several out of the freezer and let them thaw slightly, (not all the way). I placed them on foil and put them on the grill. They turned out great - I was very pleasantly surprised! I plan to make more this week. This time I am going to make a small change, I am going to cook several pieces of bacon about half way, chop it up, and "sprinkle" it over the tops of the jalapeños before I freeze them. I think the bacon will crisp nicely in the grilling process, add bacon flavor, but not add so much grease to the cream cheese!!

technically this isn't a popper, it's also NOT fried. I prefer Afterburners Makes 12 servings Source: Southern Living Serve with a spicy queso dip 12 unpeeled medium-size fresh shrimp 12 fresh jalapeÃ±o peppers 6 slices bacon -halved lengthwise Peel and devein shrimp. Cut a slit in each jalapeno pepper; remove seeds and membranes. Carefully place one shrimp in cavity of each pepper. Wrap each pepper with 1 bacon piece and secure with a wooden pick. Place on a jelly roll pan. Broil 5 1/2" from heat for 6 to 7 minutes on each side, or until bacon is cooked. Serve warm. I bake them on the two-part broiler pan that came with my electric stove. I haven't made this yet, but it sounds good! I'd only add the 4 oz. of jalapenos for us, though.

JALAPENO POPPER DIP
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (room temperature)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup cheddar cheese (grated)
1/2 cup parmigiano reggiano
1 (4 ounce) can sliced jalapenos
2 jalapeno peppers (chopped, optional)
1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
1/4 cup parmigiano reggiano

Mix the cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, parmigiano reggiano and jalapenos in a bowl and pour into a baking dish. Mix the panko bread crumbs and parmigiano reggiano and sprinkle over the dip. Bake in a 375F oven until bubbling on the sides and golden brown on top, about 10-20 minutes.

This is a good recipe for Jalepeno Popper Spread (from allrecipes.com - see link for reviews)

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
* 1 cup mayonnaise
* 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies, drained
* 2 ounces canned diced jalapeno peppers, drained
* 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS
1. Stir together cream cheese and mayonnaise in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in green chiles and jalapeno peppers. Pour mixture into a microwave safe serving dish, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
2. Microwave on High until hot, about 3 minutes.
I've made this a couple times and it is very good!

This sounds so yummy. Although I'm dog tired, I think I'm going to stop by the store and pick up the ingredients to make this.

I don't dip them in anything either.
For a change I'd wrap them in bacon...that is IF you make in the oven.

These are the breaded kind that you get in restaurants.
Home made poppers are cut in half, stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. Yum! I'm going to try mixing crab with the cream cheese one of these days too.

Well, duh! I'd better take a remedial reading class, wildchild. I love nodakgal's bacon idea--then dip them in Gayle's ranch dip.
