My White Cabinets w/ Kashmir White Granite Pics

Wanted to share a couple of progress pictures of our kitchen as it's nearing completion of our remodel. I picked white Norcraft cabinets (style is called "Concord") and also chose Kashmir White granite. We had our sink moved from under the window to the corner so I could have more workspace along the counter. The wall color I chose is Behr's "Silver Moon" mixed to 25% lighter. We still need to add hardware, the faucet, etc.

Your experience with Kashmir white granite?
Comments (17)We had originally put a couple slabs of kashmir white on hold and were setting up to have it fabricated for our kitchen. I loved it and went home to look up photos of kitchens with this granite and instead I found site after site of people complaining about staining. It really freaked me out and I brought up my concerns with our fabricator. They doubled sealed a sample of the kashmir white for us to take home and I did some testing with it. I put a few different things on the granite for about 10-20 minutes. Tomato sauce, oil and juice. All 3 stained horribly after I cleaned them off. I have read there are things you can do to get out stains but I certainly did not want to deal with a high maintenance granite like that, especially with 3 young children. Comments (11)I have been living with my kashmir white counters for about 7 months now. We did seal them using a sealer I think dh bough from Home depot. I can't remember the name of it but we are not really happy with the result. When the counters get wet the granite darkens but once they dry the water stain goes away. We have been meaning to buy the porous plus 511 sealer hoping it solves this issue. Now while I am pretty careful in wiping up stains immediately dh is not. So he will leave coffee drips, tomato sauce splashes, etc on the counters sometimes all day and they always wipe up, with no stains, (so far). Comments (8)Hi, I've linked a thread regarding cream cabinets that may give you some inspiration. I also want off-white cabinets that aren't stark. I chose BM Mascarpone. Who knows if I made the right choice though, I don't even have windows yet! I decided based on online photos, reviews, and large samples of the color next to my other elements (soapstone, wood floor, cedar beams). Comments (13)Serawyn, here is one of your photos and one from my kitchen, I love my kashmir white ,have it in my kitchen counters as on 3 bathroom floors ,big foyer and kitchen/family room combo floors , love it and would do it in a heartbeat again. I agree with Caayu , sealer is very important, have had mine for 2 years and we had the fabricator seal the counters with their sealer and have had no staining what so ever. But I have heard if you get a stain you just have to be patent cause all staining will fade after a wile . hope this helps Svava...See Morekitchendreaming
