It's in there now. Jayeanne, I hope you feel better soon and hopefully the doctor will think everything is healing fine. If it's a spider bite, those are scary! For our swap: Vina and Jayanne will send to each other. (Jayeanne has received and has mailed to Vina.) Heidi and Katie will send to each other. (Both have received.) Jeanne will send to Annie. (Annie has received.) Annie will send to Janine. (Janine has received.) Janine will send to Jeanne. (Jeanne has received.) Have a great day! Comments (26)Luckygal, where in the world are you? Somewhere near a beach obviously--but which one. Sorry no good luck on the TS shopping, do keep trying! Jeanne, I have two baker's racks outside, one is a corner unit--but neither look nearly as cute as yours with your collections and vignettes. I need to work on mine I think. That is so neat that you do the Farmer's market too. Candy, I'm another one who does tablescapes for my "imaginary" friends. DH will only eat at the table when we have company--rest of the time he prefers to eat in front of the tv. Karen, I didn't do a table, but I did glue a little cheese tray and glass dome on a pedestal and decorate it--can I get any points for that? ;o) Kathleen, the rooster napkins like in your photo that you shared with me are some of my favs. We don't do sit down breakfast often, but I like to just sit the table and display them on the plates because they look so cute....See MoreWill yours be red or white for Mother's Day?
Comments (32)This may sound really selfish, but I am raising my daughter to not fall into the Hallmark holiday trap. I don't want her to be sad on Mother's day when I'm gone or for her to wear any kind of flower. We spend a lot of time together, we are spontaneous and have a great time. We don't need a holiday to commemorate our relationship. Having said that, my Mom has been gone exactly 10 years now. Her birthday almost always fell on Mother's Day, and she passed away just days before Mother's Day, so the day makes me sad, and I just don't want my DD to feel this way. If she wants to make a deal out it with her DD then that's her thing. We did go out for dinner and live theatre (with DH of course) and had a great time, but I say it's to celebrate ourselves, for no reason, not for Mother's Day, it's something we do as a family. I miss my Mom every day and we talk about her quite a bit. I know that she missed her Mom every Mother's Day and that always made me sad. I just want to turn that around somehow and not have my daughter dread Mother's Day and other holidays, like I did for so many years. We honour my Mom, her g'ma by talking about her and the things she said and did. I am also adamant about family time being any time, not just holidays and not just because the caldendar says we have to. And no, I do not want a sappy Mother's Day card that I am expected to live up to for the rest of the year. Save the $6 you would spend on a card and tell me in your words what I mean to you, the good the bad and the ugly. Well, hopefully it's all good, coz I really don't want to know the bad unless I am unintentionally traumatizing someone. :-) See, I told you I was selfish. :-)...See MoreYour Mother's Day Rose--red or white
Comments (26)My mom died in 1989, she was only 58. Of course I thought that was old at the time (I was 23) but now I realize how young she was. That dreaded cancer! I remember wearing a red rose growing up, too, we'd all wear a red rose on our lapel before going to church on Mother's Day, mom would wear white. In fact I have a picture of that.....taken on Mother's Day probably in 1979 or 1980. I am the one on the left sitting down....See More- 12 years ago
