Comments (24)Has anyone used the Solyx Safety Film? Their web site says it replaces the need for tempered glass. The reason I'm asking is that I'm remodeling the upstairs hall bathroom and live in a tough inspection township. When they came to look at the rough in, they said I need to replace the bottom pane of my double hung window, which is behind a toilet, with either tempered glass or 3M safely film. The window is within 60" from the side of the bathtub. (Of course, if you fell out of the tub you'd have to also clear the toilet somehow.) I can't find any specifications for the Solyx and I know the inspector is going to insist on verifying it's as good as the 3M....See Morepolished nickel bathroom fixtures - do sconces have to match?
Comments (5)Hi Jan Moyer 4 years later! I have everything polished nickel because you are so right- other finishes don’t seem to work with it. (I do have frames for my paintings but they bring out the best in the painting so I’m not including that in my polished nickel everything else.) Now I’m looking for soap dispensers and I’m having a hard time as the pumps are chrome, brass, black or ORB. Any suggestions? Am I being too picky? Ty!!...See MoreBathroom Sconces Updating
Comments (27)I’m going to pile on. I don’t care for the tube lights in your bathroom. I wish I could tell you why. I really like the ones Oly found (Amazon? Who knew!) and I think 1929Spanish is on to something with the suggestion for shades. Maybe something like this tapered drum from Ballard, but white or off-white?
