Pretty much anything--chicken, steaks, pork chops, burgers, hot dogs, sausage, veggies, sliced potatoes. French Toast. Texas Toast. Grilled cheese. Pannini. Grilled fruit (pineapple, apples, pears, peaches)

One suggestion--It's a pain to clean. I found a great solution. I line mine with Parchment paper. You still get the great grill marks, but the grates stay clean. And, I think, food stays more moist.

My main complaint about mine is the cleaning, as azzalea said. I'm gonna try her suggestion about the parchment paper if I can find any. We've cooked steaks, chops, etc. & the meat does come out a little dry in my opinion, but I guess it's healthier that way, which is the whole idea. DH wanted to throw it out not long ago because it's such a pain to clean so maybe now I've saved its life. :-)

My father also got rid of his GF grill because he claimed it was a pain to clean. I use one once in a while, and think that cleaning it is simple. It came with a sponge. When ready to clean, reheat the grill, then unplug unit. Then, with the grease-catcher it came with in its place, pour water onto the grill then wipe clean with the sponge. That's all there is to it. Sometimes, after this step, I wipe clean with a moist (folded) paper towel.

I've only ever cooked burgers on it, so I will revisit this thread for more inspiration.

Perhaps my grill is simple to clean because I haven't used it for anything else?

Like the other's I cook just about everything on it, however, I spray a cooking spray on it first then when I am done I take about 4 wet paper towels, and lay them on the hot grill and close the top. When it has cooled down I lift the lid, wipe the grill down with the now almost dry paper towels and then wash and rinse it. Easy as pie this way lol.

We have one...I don't use it. Too much trouble, and a mess to clean.

I love mine and it is easy to clean. When I am done cooking I take a dishcloth dip it in hot soapy water and lay it on the grill and put the cover down. The steam cleans off the grills. Then I just wash with soapy water when I do the dishes and dry it off.

Bobby loves pancakes on the grill since it makes trenches for the syrup. Just put a piece of 2x4 under the front legs to level it and there you go. Also great for doing bacon as the grease just runs into the drip tray.

Put asparagus in a little olive oil, salt and pepper and roll it around until coated. Lay across the grids and shut the cover for a couple of minutes. It is wonderful.

I like mine, but you have to watch it closely because it cooks really fast. I have the small one. It is a huge pain to clean! But I do as zipper does and put a wet paper towel on it while it's still hot, close the lid, then wipe. It's still messy, but works quite well. In fact, I'm pretty sure that I got that suggestion off of this board.

OK George has got to stop with this grill thing.

My son is in graduate school and his apartment doesn't allow charcoal or gas grills on the balcony. They do allow electric ones. So his room mate bought an electric George Foreman grill on a stand that they can use.

But get this - it comes with built in stereo speakers and an outlet to attach your iPod. So you can listen to music while cooking your hamburgers. George calls it the iPod Grill.

My son nicknamed it the Grill 'n Play.

I haven't ask them if they have any trouble cleaning it. Somehow I'm not sure they ever will.

I do the same as Zipper...the wet paper towel trick works great! We use ours alot in the winter when it's too cold to grill outdoors. My son uses it alot more than I do now. He cooks frozen fries, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, pretty mcuh everything. the trick to cleaning is to wipe it out while it's still hot.

I LOVE ours! We are a family of four and use it all the time. We grill chicken, burgers, salmon steaks, sausages. Just about anything. I bought the G5 so we could have the waffle iron plates too. It is a snap to clean. I've never had a problem with it. In fact, we use it so often, it rarely gets put away. I store the plates and the drip pans but the grill itself stays out on a shelf. The thing I love the most is how fast it cooks. Because it cooks the food from both sides, it helps a lot on those busy baseball or football nights when we need a good dinner in a short amount of time.

Great investment for us.

We had one that was very hard to clean so we gave it away and bought a GE. It has removable grates that goes in the dishwasher. I think George has one now that has the removable grates. We only buy the 7 or 9% ground beef so this is the only way to have hamburgers inside and we hate anything grilled outside on those charcoal or gas grills.

I have one that has the removable grates also,not a George Foreman.Most of the time I just wipe it clean with a damp paper towel while it is still warm but with something really messy or burned on I just soak a few minutes in hot soapy water.
I cook just about everything on mine,even make grilled cheese sandwiches.When I grill vegetables I brush the grill with olive oil first.

OMGOSH...I haven't taken it out of the box...gonna investigate and make sure it's the one with removeable grills or I'll go postal tryin to clean it!!

I also have one (not a Foreman) where the grates come out to clean. We rarely use ours though except for the occasional hamburgers when it is too cold to grill them outside.

I'm amazed that so many think it's hard to clean! I do not have removable grates, and it takes me about 30 seconds to clean. Mine has gotten a lot of use over the years, and it looks like new. It's just about the easiest thing to clean in my kitchen. I'd try the parchment paper, but it is SO quick and easy to clean, why go to that trouble and expense?

I like mine, and use the damp paper towels on hot grates method of cleaning. One thing I like to make is (sp?) quesadias. Granted I can only make one at a time, but being DH doesn't like any mexican food, it doesn't take long to make myself two for lunch. I take a abt 6 inch tortia, put on some gtated cheese some diced or shredded cooked chicken, a little salsa, maybe some chopped green onion and chopped black olives. Fold in half & put in grill, fold side down and grill till cheese melts. Mmmmm good. Dottie

Salmon and chicken breasts are what I mostly cook on mine. But I also started to make hot sandwiches on there. Any sandwich you would like hot, throw it on! :)

Thanks ya'll...IT WAS A HIT!! I came in the kitchen and the college boy was cooking burgers for he and his honey...he didn't SEE the four chicken breasts I had been marinating all afternoon...They were fab...but you guys are right...it cooks quick...seconds meant the difference between done and BURNED...(oops)...I'm copying and pasting your ideas and posting inside a cabinet so I can get to them quick...THANKS AGAIN!! My grills don't come out...but I just leaned it over the sink and using the little scraper tool...scraped the mess into the sink then wiped out with paper towels.

I love mine. I started with a small one but it hardly held anything. I dumped it and bought the big size with removable grills and use it all the time -- veggies, chicken, paninis, almost anything. I think it is easy to clean. I use the wet scot towel method, wipe off most of the crud, and put the grills in the dishwasher. It is no harder to clean than a pot or pan.

For the ones with the removeable grates, is there any problem with the gunk getting on the machine itself so there's excess cleaning or does everything stay on the grate itself?

I was looking at the one with the removeable grates on clearance and really debated. Then I decided to wait a bit and keep using the electric fry pan.

And geez, how can anyone really hate something cooked on a grill? I don't understand it myself.

Yeah, some stuff sometimes gets on the machine itself, but it just wipes right off. After I remove the grills and put them in the dishwasher, I just wipe down the whole (cooled) machine, inside and outside, with a dishrag.

So far, other than waffle batter a couple times, I haven't had any problem with it. That batter was just a little and cleaned up easily. The only thing I do have that I don't like is over spray from the "PAM" I spray on it. If you get it while it's hot it comes of pretty well, otherwise it's a little sticky and only on the hinge in the back.
