Hamburgs only.

We enjoy thin steaks (boneless) and seasoned with a dry steak seasoning. Also we like the boneless, skinless chicken thighs seasoned with McCormick's Season All on them. We've also done burgers and slices of zuccini squash. We really should use ours more too. I'll be watching this thread.

I do chicken breasts any time I'm making a chicken casserole, like King Ranch, or when I'm using chicken to make a chicken salad, or quasadillas. My DD#2 has done pork chops on hers. Oh! and grilled cheese sandwiches, when you're trying to control the butter. (Which isn't often enough.)

I do chicken breasts, and salmon steaks mostly, as far as grilling.

But I LOVE heating sandwiches on it. Just make your normal sandwich, and then put on the grill and heat it. Yummy, on these cold days.

Quesadillas (sp?) I put shredded cheese, some cooked chicken, cooked shrimp or if I don't have any meat, I just do cheese, with sliced black olives and a little salsa on a tortilla. Then I fold the tortilla in half out in in the GF grill fold side down. and grill till heated through and the cheese is melted. This works because I'm making this for me. DH doesn'tlike any ethnic food. Dottie

Only have one in my summer home so cook quick meals for just myself, hamburgers, hot dogs, fresh tuna caught by my neighbor the day before, steak, and chicken. Must say I have the little GF so it stays out on top of the microwave ALL the time. Best $4.00 every spent at Goodwill. Well did get a Nesco 18 qt roaster in perfect condition for $15.00, love their "senior" discount day.

I don't use mine often but whenever I grill fish, or bacon or even breakfast ham....things that usually smell up the house; I do it outside on the patio with George. All seasons.(The Veggie here, who is not crazy about lingering smells!) Think I will try those sandwiches/roll-ups though. Nanny

Substitute for Apple Pie:
Spread apple slices on half a tortilla, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, cover with empty side and grill for a couple of minutes. Great with a bit of whipped cream or ice cream.

Tuna Melt Sammie

Hamburgers, chicken marinated in Italian dressing, steaks, pork chops. Have also done fish, zuchinni, asparagus is wonderful on the grill. I take a 2x 4 cut the length of under the bottom of the grill. Put it under the feet, now you can make pancakes. The ridges hold in the syrup. Also cook my bacon and sausage on the grill.

A dumb question -- do you just cook whatever food until the light goes off? Does GF know how long to cook whatever you happen to put on?

I cook both whole chicken breast as well as salmon steaks for 10 minutes from the time my light goes off, and I put the food on.

Heating up sandwiches... takes a bit of time to figure out. About 3 minutes, give or take a bit.

I cook thick bacon, chicken breast, hotdogs, hamburgers, heat sandwiches, heat up things (Since I don't like a lot of stuff reheated in Microwave, Grilled burrito's, Gosh just about anything.

Lot of times I will cook something and finish them on the foreman grill to crisp it up.

It's been so cold lately that we use it at least once a week. It's perfect for chicken breasts, salmon, burgers and hot dogs (we usually slice them down the middle) and even filet mignon with portobello mushrooms.

I use mine alot for chicken breasts, salmon steaks and hamburgers. I find it very handie because DH and I don't always eat the same meal. I quite often will grill some fish on it while DH makes himself pasta or some other high carb meal.

I've done shrimp on mine. Haven't used it for a while though.

fish, chicken, steak, porkchops, burgers...ours tends to stay out cause the kids seem to use it everyday...along with the fry daddy for fries and onion rings!

I just recently bought one, and glad I did. DH eats chicken almost every night so I have been using it a lot. I marinade chicken tenders, then cook them for about 6-8 min. on the GFG. I think the light is just a cooling off thing. I cooked grilled cheese sandwiches on it and its good for panini's. Any kind of hot sandwich will work unless its too fat. Hot dogs work well in it also. You can look up different recipes on google.

I sometimes char poblano or jalapeno peppers on it.
Did you see the chicken cooked on the GF grill on The Biggest Loser? A chicken breast was butterflied and then pounded sort of thin. Salt, pepper and seasonings of choice added then grilled. I want to try that soon.
I wonder if it would be good for seared ahi?

Grilled Chicken with Lemon & Oregano
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 to 3 cloves garlic, crushed
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
(pounded to about 1/2 inch thick)

Combine all marinade ingredients. Add chicken breast halves to the marinade. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Grill until done (approximately 4 to 5 minutes on the George Foreman grill).

Maura63 - check your manual for cooking times of various foods. The light on mine indicates that it's heating up. When the light goes out, it's heated.

I use mine for panini. The GF grill was way cheaper than those panini grills they sell.

I make sandwiches on mine too. My favorite is turkey, shredded cheese. and halved grape tomatoes on a tortilla. Any leftover meat works well too. The kids like the hot dogs because it makes 'stripes' on them! Grilled cheese and tomato is good too! Also french toast. You can even grill onion for your burgers. BTW-it bears repeating-after removing your items, unplug and immediatly place wet soapy paper towels on it, and close the lid. Helps greatly with cleaning! It anything else remains, the GF aponges work great!
