I have two, I recently bought a small bright orange one that I use way more often than the big one because it looks nice sitting out on the counter.
My experience is things cook real fast, so maybe check them after about 5 minutes. After you use it a couple of times,it will be easier to judge. I really like mine for burger patties or boneless chicken.

Gave DS one, years ago. When I would visit him, I would grill veggies and they were really good cooked that way.

Like Lavon posted, they cook things real fast. I usually make myself a rib--eye steak for myself for my B'day, and really have to watch it so it doesn't get past MR.
The one I have is a smaller one and I like to make (sp?) Quasadillas on it. I can cook one, folded with the meat &cheese inside and because it is slanted, the filling doesn't come out. H ave fun with your new toy.

I love mine for grilling frozen chicken breasts. I don't have to thaw them. They take no time and turn out so tender and juicy! It's also great for doing bacon for BLT's. Much faster and less messy than a fry pan. I use it alot during the cold weather when we may not want to grill outside. Check online for the manual. You can probably download the entire manual if you have the model number.

I have one and use this one a lot more than the first one I had. The first one didn't have removable griddles/grates/whatever you call them. That thing (imo) was a PAIN to clean! The removable ones you can pull off, rinse and put in the dishwasher! :)

Well..I throwed the pork chops on it and they were done in no time it seemed. I wish this one had the removable thingys!! I use to have one of the small ones s long time ago when they first came out. I'd always take the meat off..then put wet paper towels on the grill and close it while it was still hot. Clean up was pretty easy doing it that way.

I eventually got rid of my small one and bought a large one with the removeable plates. It makes all the difference! I use it quite a bit. I'm cooking a steak and grilled veggies on it tonight.

Same as country bumpkin, the wet paper towels have made clean up very easy. I was at the point of giving mine to the goodwill and buying one with the removable plates, the papers towels work like a charm for me. Use mine for fish, chicken, steak, and vegetables.

For those who don't have removable grids, here's a tip that makes clean-up eaven easier than the wet paper towel thing.

When you cook on your Forman Grill, line it, top and bottom with PARCHMENT paper. It cooks just as well, you still get the grill marks, BUT the food stays even moister, and there's virtually no clean-up--just a quick wipe. I've been using the parchment trick (I use the brown, unbleached parchment) for years--wouldn't cook in my Forman without parchment!

Parchment? Seems I remember my Mom or Grandma using it, but I've never bought it! Where would I find it?

I fad one and just got rid of it because the coating was wearing off and it wasn't that old and I only used plastic on it.

I didn't like mine for cooking meat except hot dogs, sausages or the odd few slices of bacon or pineapple slices. I thought my meat came out steamed more than grilled. Loved it for cooking asparagus though.

Bump, parchment paper is on the same shelves with clear plastic wrap and waxed paper and such. It comes in the same type of container as waxed paper, but you can also get it precut.

Thanks! A little of the coating is coming off mine too...so I think I'll get some of the parchment and try it!

Don't use spray coating, it will ruin the grill. You can find the parchment paper by the wax paper & tin foil.
I used to just wipe mine with some oil.

I read the parchment paper thing on KT some time ago. Friends think I am brilliant when I tell them about it.

OK..another question about the parchment paper. Do I use it on the top AND bottom?

I read about the parchment on this site, too, and it works great. And yes, I put it on the top and on the bottom.

I have the GF one here but have a Hamilton Beach brand at home.I love them both and cook everything on them.I do like the HB one best for ease of cleaning as it has the removable grills and the dripping catcher slides into a slot and it stays in place.On the Foreman the catcher just sits beside the grill and a lot of the drippings usually end up on the counter. If I was buying one now I would spend the money on the Hamilton Beach.

my brother-in-law gave me one for Christmas. It was so big and i dont have much counter space so I took it back and it cast 64 dollars at Walmart. My boss gave me one that they had bought at an auction sale and it was just like brand new. It doesnt have the removeable grids but I dont think it is such a pain to clean. I just set it on the side the sink and just keep washing it down until it is clean. I will try the parchment paper though. That is a good tip. I can only fit 4 burgers on it but I know I never would have used that big one for just the 2 of us.

Cherryfizz- you're right about the grill steaming the meat. That's why I only use it for hot dogs or if it's raining out and I can't use the Weber. My DH wants me to buy one of the grills with floating, adjustable hinges. The adjustable hinges allow you to open the lid and lay it flat on the counter for a larger, open cooking surface. The floating hinges allow the lid to fit the thickness of the food better and it also allows the steam to escape from all sides.
