Yeah ! I can log in again??

I have not been able to log in on my machine since last Thursday.. I have been able to check in and read. And did post from DH's computer... Lots of neat things I have seen this week... Great Job ladies....

Any one know anything about Stack n Whack quilts??

In the past lots has been posted about Stack n Whack.....do a search in past posts to read what all was said. That's the idea of having all posts saved - why waste good info when one can revisit it...no need to reinvent the wheel each time...lol
Did you contact the technical staff about the problem? Sometimes I have to login before EACH post, and when that happens I email technical about it....they never answer me, but the problem does get 'fixed'..

I have made a Stack N Whack from the inspiration I got from this forum. I made it a lot easier on myself by stacking the four layers (design exactly over each exact design) then cutting them into six inch squares and sub-cutting them into quarters and then those quarters I cut diagonally once. It was so much easier.

I am not sure the photos are still around, so here is a close up of one of my blocks.

Thanks guys. Here was how I did it: Tools: Drill, drill bit, chisels, hammer. sandpaper. You will need a large diameter wood coring/drill bit. A Forstner Drill Bit works better than a spade type drill bit. I used a 2" drill bit. Mark off the distance between holes you will be drilling. It will be easier to drill every other hole fisrt and then drill in between. A line of holes are to be drilled thru the log, and then at 90 degrees, drill another line of holes thru the log. By the time you finished drilling the holes, most of the wood in the center of the log will be removed. Using chisels, carve out more wood. It would be easier if you have a drill press. Although a hand drill can do the job also. dcarch

jalal: having the same problem recently!! I always chec the box by my posting so responses go to my e-mail but lately they don't... I have to log on the pond site again & find the responses to my posting. And I have asked about this twice now to the computer help section but no response yet!

Yeah, it can happen once in awhile like Diane said. Either the cookies got cleaned out somehow by your computer, or the website had some update or maintenance that wipes out the cookies. I hate it when my son messes with my computer and cleans out ALL the cookies. There are some websites that I can never remember the password to get on.

I have been on this forum over a year and do not remember this talk so it must be old or I am . I will check out the archives. Sorry to bother you Sandra... If it has been that long I am sure others want to know also.. I am taking a class the end of June. Yes I did contact tech support and I can now sign in each time but still can not save the log in... I will contact them again.. grace

Grace I tried just one S&W had to have the book right on the cutting table and read every word needless to say I never finished the quilt, but think going to a class and having human walk you through the process will make it so much easier, go for it they are beautiful quilts when finished.

Grace, I typed in "stack and Whack" in the search slot and got 13 posts, with their accompanying answers...I think the last one was just this past Dec...don't remember the other dates, but it looked like, at a quick glance, there was a lot of info that, hopefully, will be a help to you.

Here's someones blog about making a stack N whack. Interesting looking at that way to do the quilt.

I just finished a top but used the lazy mary method but I can't find that link to the picture of their's. I didn't have a pattern but just did my own thing. Not much help.

This first quilt class I ever took was a "Stack & Whack" class. We used Bethany Reynolds book "Magic Stack & Whack". Bethany was the guest speaker at my quilt guild this spring. She has lots of info on her web site bethanyreynolds.com

Gillian thanks that is exactly what I am going through now.. I think that the class will help I am really confused after looking at the book. I thought that I had it all figured out till I got the book. I am a hands on kind of person... I am having a hard time finding fabric that I think will work. guess I am being to picky... Linda and Glass I love the out come can't wait to take the class. grace
