I don't know if the name is unappealing. To me, it conjures images of kids coloring with chalk, playing hopscotch, riding scooters - fun summer activities. It sounds better than "concrete", which describes the color just as well.

I would NOT want to have the job of naming paint colors!

I guess I don't think about the sidewalks of my childhood (I grew up in NYC) in quite the same way. My friends and I spent a lot of time on the sidewalks, and we certainly had a lot of fun. But their color wasn't anything I'd want to paint my walls with, at least not in my memory.

I used it in a east facing kitchen. It was a really nice blue gray. In the morning light it looked very blue, and at night it looked like the most perfect gray. The lighting changed the look of it from morning until night. I would use it again.

Thanks for your input, Lesliep. It's good to know you liked it. My room faces west and north, so maybe the colors will change in reverse. ;-)

I used it in my powder room. It's a nice color, it just wasn't what I wanted. I wanted a gray with no blue. How I ended up with that color, I cannot explain. It is a very soft blue-gray. Not bright at all. My powder room also has east facing window. It never looks gray, even at night. Still looks blue.

The trim and cabinets in there are the stock BM white. The one you buy off the shelf, no mixing required. Cannot remember the name right now.

If you want a blue-gray, it will probably work for you.

Yes I used Sidewalk Gray in my son's bedroom because I was looking for a color similar to what you are looking for. His room mainly faces north..a little east. And I have to tell you...it looks somewhat purple to me which is so NOT what I wanted. I've had it painted like that for over a year now but I'm definately going to change it. Sometimes yes it looks like a great gray color but quite often it is purple-y to me.

I have it in one of my DH office/guest BR. It's exactly as Lesliep describes.

We painted or entire first floor with sidewall grey. It has an unexpected blue note, but I love it! We painted trim bright white, used brushed nickel metals, and our floor is chocolate brown. It's all beautiful together!

I used it in an East facing bedroom that gets a lot of light and it looks blue. Not what I was going for but I like it. I am about to use it again in another west facing room where I want the blue so I hope it is the same here
