How to go about choosing fabric for dining room chairs
Comments (23)jejvtr: Thanks for the feedback. I am still looking. You are right--that sight is addictive. I think part of the problem is my rug was an impulse buy--used Karastan on CL for $300--and the colors there tend to be more on the cool side whereas the curtains are more on the warm side. The navy reads more blackish IRL. I think I would prefer to coordinate with the drapes since I can see myself swapping out this rug at some point... My instincts don't always steer me in the right direction and there are lots of detours. How did your house turn out after you painted it? I remember some progress pics, but not a final. housefairy: Thanks for the tip on the fusable interfacing and the fabric guard. I will look into both of those for my project. ronnieroo: That is probably best to just order the samples. I saw on another DR chair thread where the poster bought fabric online and the online pic looked different than her pic. What fabric project are you working on? I haven't seen any posts from you lately....See MoreCurtains for (formal) Dining Room with colorful Persian Rug
Comments (41)sergeantcuff, eastautumn, and ingrid, I love all of your rooms. Persian rugs make a room, IMO. Since my budget is very limited I decorate around the most commonly found colors in them-- the more unusual colors are out of my reach. Thankfully, I am a huge fan of red anyway. My rugs in my LR (I needed 2 since it's a long, narrow room) and DR are all old and at least slightly worn. I'd love to know what the rugs have seen over all these years in their different homes. sergeantcuff, I think I would only change the lace if you don't feel they are "you" or you are simply tired of them. If you are looking for custom, consider https://bestfabricstore.com/ I bought some nice linen fabric from them and wish I had had used the workroom too... but I am doing it myself to save money. (Now I just need a huge chunk of uninterrupted time.) The prices are very reasonable, even lined, for basic curtains. eastautumn, your stained trim is so pretty. My home also has (dark) stained trim but it's not "beefy" so I don't like it at all. It provides just enough color to be annoying to work with without adding any real value... but it would be a pain to get rid of....See MoreKazak rugs/Persian rug - affordable options
