Does this Persian Rug go with the Furniture/Room?
Comments (20)Catalina has beautiful rugs but they are pricey because of their high quality and knot count. However, you can find good and long-lasting hand-knotted rugs at more affordable prices that will still look great and last for years on esalerugs, overstock.com and ebay. A larger rug will have a huge impact on the appearance of your living room, more than a small but finer rug. I recently purchased this one on ebay for a very reasonable price. Because of the large, simple tribal design the knot count is not that high, but if you buy another Persian-type rug it will be denser and I think you'll be satisfied with the quality. In my mind, when it comes to rugs go big or go home....See Morecolor of couches with red Persian rugs
Comments (13)I would do both the same....I have an off white sofa ottoman and love seat in a room with a large Persian rug in the red tones and I like it a lot....on the other hand I have a soft rosy, cream and blue striped sofa in another room with a red toned Persian rug....and I like that look too, albeit more formal. If you really have a huge room, you might think of the new sofa being very long and upholster it the same as the older one...unless you are looking for the balance of 2 like sized pieces. and please don't cheapen and compromise that lovely rug with cheap looking "persian rug" throw pillows....See MorePaint color for north facing room with red Persian rug??
Comments (22)Thanks! The curtains are always opened to let more light in. The only reason they were closed in that first photo was because we hadn't moved in yet. The curtains have to stay. I bought the fabric in Greece and they are custom made. I took the arm cover off the chair and I put that and the curtains up against the Samplize sample of EG that I have here. It looks like it could work, but I'll have to go upstairs into that room after the workers leave and look at it in there. I know it's hard for you guys to give me completely accurate advice without seeing it in person, but I do appreciate all of your feedback! It might be worth looking at some more creamy colors to compare and see what looks best before deciding....See MorePersian Rugs Vacuuming
Comments (12)I had all the Persian rugs professionally cleaned a few months ago and they look great. I want to be able to just now clean them regularly from everyday hair and dirt (we don't have any pets). I would like a little bit of suction to get the dirt out. Plus I want to go over my hardwood floors so would rather just have one vacuum with the option to flip from hardwood to delicate carpet. I was about to purchase the cannister Miele C3 Limited Edition Power Line yesterday, but the sales person said it would be way too powerful for my rugs. She recommended the Dyson, but I've had my issues with two Dyson vacuums now where the batteries just eventually die on you and cannot be recharged. You mentioned the Miele comes with a non-motorized rug tool - would you happen to have a picture of this or part #? Perhaps I should just buy the Miele and purchase this extra part for the rugs....See Morejanedoe2012
