If you want to go with a charcoal bronze on the trim, I would for sure try to get a paint color that was beige with a bit more grey in it. It would transition nicely between the very brown roof and the charcoal bronze trim, and would pull out a bit more of the grey tones in the stone.

Charcoal bronze still sounds more brown than grey to me, anyway. Can you post a color swatch of the color you are considering?

Hi les, thanks, the swatch on the bottom left is Chimneysweep from walmart. I am trying to match a similar color with the Sherwin Williams colors which are on the bottom right in each photo. I've taken photos, but the colors don't show very well, bronze and black are hard to capture with the camera. Looking at the swatches in person I like the enduring bronze the best; none are really similar to the chimney sweep though which has more black and charcoal and less brown, but maybe the brown in the bronze would be better with the tan of the roof.

If you have suggestions as to the body color in Sherman Williams, please let me know. i tried to pick out a color I saw in the stone facade for the body color and the trim color.

Bronze is a color and charcoal gray is a color, but I don't think I have ever seen a grayish bronze. I know you don't want brown - I don't like it either. But why not go with a nice shade of bronze?

I wish I could figure out how to do the Sherwin williams site wiht my house and put the color direclty on it. Perhaps I'll try harder to get it to work.

Spring: The reason your photos won't work in SW is because the resolution is way too small. With the first picture of the whole house, in order to mask the areas, you need more house & less surroundings in the photo, more like the second photo has. If the resolution were bigger, I could have cropped it down some but it's just too small.

So I toyed with colors trying to match the stone. Thats a quartzite type stone and I can see you are trying to match the blue grays in it. I used several different colors some you'll like others not so much but a visual always helps, right?

oh lukkiirish thanks so very much, I see what you mean, I tried to get the whole house in the photo because that's the one I put on my blog and wanted it to be smaller to load quicker.

I see several colors I like and I do like the bronze, the enduring and the urbane, not status, although I hate to admit it the northcreek brown for trim looks pretty good. Home colors I like are springfield tan and brunswick beige.
thanks ever so much, I'll show these to DH tomorrow and see what he thinks. The bronze doesn't look half bad, although this photo doesn't show the roof, it was raining with thunder and lightening otherwise I would have taken another close up photo, perhaps tomorrow.

Glad it helped. It's a hard decision, just keep in mind that the colors will still not look exactly like they do in the photos. Good luck!
