*shudder*

Don't have time to read the link but will come back later.

*ack*

The poor people....

Lori

That's very strange! I hope they can figure out who they are and where they came from.

Linda

Oh that's absolutely bizarre. I keep thinking of different scenarios that would explain it - none of them are really happenings I want to consider.

I read that on-line the other day, very strange.

"Linteau said that there's no evidence the feet were severed or removed from the victims' legs by force."

Um, so how were they removed, if not by some sort of force?

Yikes.

Paula... "Curtis Ebbesmeyer, an oceanographer based in Seattle, Wash., said when a human body submerged in the ocean, the main parts like arms, legs, hands, feet and the head are usually what come off the body." Yuck. I've learned something today that I did not really want to know.

You would think the socks and shoes would deteriorate in the ocean. Also the shoe wouldn't stay on after the flesh decomposed.

I'm thinking it may be a prank by medical students working on cadavers. When they are finished with the cadaver it would most likely be cremated so there would be no DNA to be traced back to the foot. Cut the muscle and tendons, carefully dis-joint the foot, dress the foot in a sock and sneaker and toss into the sea. Mission accomplished.

I don't believe in coincidences like that. WC's theory makes sense.

I want to believe what Wildchild said, too!

Gayle

Ditto with what wildchild said. Hmmm...with her imagination and conjecture, wildchild could be the author of some really spine-chilling mystery novels.

Maybe this is why I'm losing socks from the dryer???

Or a shark took a bite and didn't like the taste? ;)

I think "cut the muscle and tendons" would fall under the category of having been removed by force. Yes?

On that article page is another link (on the left I think?), so I went and read that. Some people are speculating they are the missing victims of a small plane crash. Hasn't yet been proven...just a guess of some.

Still--it is the most bizarre thing I've ever heard!

I would love to hear how this ends. Keep us posted if you find out.
Clare

O.M.G.

That is creepy!! But fascinating.... would love to know what they find out.

You can bet I'm looking alot more carefully at the shoreline when I go down to the beach now. This is happening not far from where I am.

No that would be surgery. ;-)

Drawing and quartering, using a machete,a hunting knife or an ax,breaking off at the bone or using a chain saw would be removed by force. At least in the context of what that "spokesperson" in the article stated.

If this theory is correct why would it only be right
feet washed up,why not some left as well. ????

Ewwwww...shudder...if that is a joke, it is a sicko one. THIS is exactly why I don't swim anywhere, where I can't see my feet when I am in the water--Ever!

The other feet, with the bodies ...

... were left behind.

After death, we rot.

In water, that'd mean that we come apart.

No idea why just rights would wash ashore.

Or just feet.

ole joyful

Joyful, I thought the "rights" vs "privileges" debate was over! ;)

If WC's theory is correct then we have some pretty sick puppies in Med school. I don't want them to evercome near my body.
