I can't think of any way to have the results of a quiz with their name on it show up on a person's Facebook page unless they take took the the quiz themself.

You have the option to delete any content on your Facebook page as does X on his/her page.

I think it can happen without his knowledge...just the same as I keep getting some sort of dating crap that I have never joined myself,but yet it states that I have.
What it *used* to be before a lot of the changes, was an app to send roses..then this *Zoosk* thing came along in the send roses apps place.
Another friend here,someone not overly sure even what to do in FB,has had all kinds of issues,similar to what you are speaking of..sometimes as it is loading,the page jumps when a person is about to click on something legitament,and you end up somewhere totally different.

anyways, Sue,go to the top of you FB page,you'll see privacy settings,app settings,etc.
You can delete ppl and/or apps you do not want via these settings,or maybe just even block for the time being.

Always look at the top.....there might be an answer there for you

I would be afraid that I would end up embarrassed that my name was connected in any way with others who might post some rather crude or unacceptable (to me anyway) things.

I keep getting this email from 'some' networking site asking me to join or if I even know Kay Soandso. I am to answer Yes or No. Well since I do not know the last name of all my cyber acquaintances, I really don't know...so I just do not reply to the email.

I'll just stick with forums, and more personal ways of keeping in touch. I would likely end up in a situation like the other Sue.

I guess if I let someone be my friend, my name would be on 'their' book for all to see...right?

If you're only using Facebook for email, you're missing a lot of fun features.
I have a Facebook page, and I have gotten in touch, with former classmates, co-workers, and people with familar interest.

Sue, if you want to delete something off your page, hold your cursor over the item. On the right, a "Hide" button will appear and you can get rid of the item that way.

like camp said... there's usually a "hidden" little part in the upper right section noted on your facebook list. hit the "HIDE" word and it should go away.

You shouldn't really worry about it being on his page unless he's asking for your help in erasing it. Just take it off your page.

Personally, I think it's very possible that he did not take the test. Facebook is really messed up sometimes.. Just today I had my friend's picture listed under other friends....Odd, but their stuff is all messed up.

Regardless, if you have more than a couple people as friends, things are gonna show up on your page that may not really be appropriate for everyone. Facebook is not really what I would call family friendly... You're probably gonna see quizes for your favorite stripper name and funnest sexual posistion... not to mention some of the advertising. If the "f" word offends you that much, I'm not so sure facebook is the place for you.

I had many reservations about FB, but I now love it. I've reconnected with many cousins and old friends that I had lost contact with.

I am another who had reservations about Facebook, was hesitant to join. I eventually did and must say I love it as well. Great way to stay in touch with everybody you wish to.

have you seen the movement to ban parents from facebook, lol...they had a story about it on the news...wondered if that included grandparents, lol...

I love it because you get to know people and can reconnect on a whole 'nother level. And I get to keep in touch with, for example, my friend's daughter. I see pics of her baby growing up and keep up to date with her. She's one example of someone I wouldn't really call to chat with, but I enjoy our interaction of f/b. Same with some of my nieces in Alberta. It just opens things up for me.

I've said this before but the reason I really love Facebook is because it's a nice passive way of keeping in touch with the lives of others. You can read about what your friends and family are up to, see their photos, interests, etc. without having to exchange emails or visit several different blogs or websites. I hate the pressure of getting an email I don't have time to reply to right away. Facebook keeps me informed without much effort on my end. Sounds selfish of me but I put in many, many long work days. I want to stay informed/connected but not have anything cut into the little free time I have.

I, of course, had heard a lot of references to Facebook. They all pertained to how great it was to reconnect with friends and family. I didn't know there were "hidden" mysteries that came with it.

So I joined up, and right away found some relatives that would be good to hear from. I began to realize I was also gaining "friends" I never heard of. I have no idea who most of those friends are.

As I said before, I think Facebook should come with a tutorial. A lot of the terms are not self-explanatory.

I googled and learned a few tid-bits here and there. One was the use of the Hide button, but that only works on the Home page, not the page of a Friend. So there is no way to my knowledge to remove something from another's page. Seems like there should be, it is MY Facebook.

Anyway, I have gone in and removed every name except my nieces and nephews. I left X, because I don't have the heart to delete him. I know that if he did do the quiz, and doesn't want to admit it after seeing the result, that he had no idea what would have come of taking the quiz. And that the "F" word would be blasted on that page in BIG red letters on a black background. Facebook should be ashamed.

I didn't join Facebook looking for games to play or quizzes to take. My purpose was to locate and reconnect with family. For that I think Facebook will be fine. It is much better than emailing.

If anything similar happens again, I will give it up completely.

Generally when you take a quiz you get to see the results, and then you get to decide if you want to post the results to your page or not. You actually have to hit a button to post it to your page so, my guess is, that if he is kind of ashamed of it, he probably didn't know he was doing it -- if he even did do it. He may have been goffing off or trying to log out and the quiz kept going as he hit return to get out -- who knows?

Now, he can go in and change his own Facebook page. Your facebbok page is yours... but his page is his so you don't really have a right to change "his" page. If everyone could change everyone elses pages, there would be huge problems. You should be able to get updates and enough info from him onto your page without having to visit his page, and you can delete entries there you don't like. I hardly ever visit other peoples page... but I get a lot of their info onto my facebook page that they post generally.

Anyway, you could ask him to delete "hide" it on his page and that will also delete you from seeing it when you visit his page. He may not even know he has the option to get rid of it.
