Face Book games

I love games. I have a lot of my own games. I do Facebook. It seems the concensus here is anti Facebook. I would guess that Facebook games is bad too? Why? I never have played them but a lot of my friends have invited me. I'm just curious of what you guys have to say.

I guess it depends on how you define "bad". What are you concerned about?

Bad meaning the possibility of getting virus or adware from them?

I maybe should have started a new thread instead of putting this here, but I'd like to know about something some of my friends have joined, an app that is supposed to tell you who has visited your photos, profile, etc. I can't figure out if people who use that app will be able to identify anyone who looks at their profile, or if it would only identify people who use that particular app.

I play games daily & prefer puzzles, word games & hidden object adventure games. Lately, it's mostly word games and solitaire. But I don't feel guilty, so does it still count? I play Wordscraper on FB - a Scrabble clone that allows fantastically high scores, but only works on my desktop, and WordBrain, among other things, on my phone. And lately, I've been reading everything I can find by Diana Wynne Jones that I haven't already read - mostly YA/Youth. Luckily, she was very prolific! It's total escapism into well crafted fantasy and there's always a happy ending. I also read 'How I Live Now' in 1 night after watching the movie. I was a bit surprised by how very different from each other the book and the film were, but both are very good. Something about books & stories for and about young people that provide a feeling of hopefulness... P.S. If you want a game that's not a word game, try World Of Goo. It's quite unique and really stretches your mind.

I only "do" Pinterest (none of the other social media platforms), and having only recently picked back up with pinning, I too have noticed some freaky coincidences. I would almost swear that I could THINK of something, and it will appear in my feed in no time flat. Spooky. I also have entirely too many pins show up in my feed that have to do with Korean boy bands, and I have no idea why. I "hide" them, but they keep coming. I'm there to peruse home and garden ideas, not K-Pop!

casi...I have had a Facebook acct for several years and never had a problem. The only game I play on Facebook is Words with Friends ....it is like a scrabble game. I like visiting Facebook and seeing my friends. Make sure you have privacy settings on your account. I only share with friends....I do not share with everyone only friends.

When I went to try a game it asks something about sharing information and that scared me. Cricketm, did you allow the sharing?

you will have to allow sharing for that game if you want to play it. I am a huge fan of Farmville but have to admit, when clicking on 'gifts' from other players that seem too good to be true, I have gotten my computer infected. If you don't have the ability to clean up your computer when it gets nasties or have a tech on speed dial, it may not be your best choice.

Casi....I only play with friends or relatives....not strangers.......so to answer your question ...I only share with friends or relatives. I have been on FB for a few years and never had a problem...so far...
