I read these on a Q&A forum. Might be worth a try.

(1) Call Verizon wireless to remove voicemail feature. You can call them back to activate it. There is no charge for this.
(2) Setup call forwarding to a number (landline or other cell phone) that does not have voice mail option.

Cos someone is filling up my mail box with voice mails almost every single day. And not nice ones. I've had this number for years, and use it for work, and don't want to have to change it. I tried blocking the number, you can't block individual numbers. I tried having a friend record a new outgoing message "The number you have dialed has been disconnected..." thinking he'd stop if he thought my phone was disconnected, but he figured out it wasn't when he stayed on the line and got the "Please leave your message after the tone" message when the outgoing message was over.
I just want the messages to stop.

If you're being stalked by phone I would report it to the authorities. Most states now have laws that include electronic forms of communication within stalking or harassment laws.

You should not have to give up a personal convenience because of one idiot out there. He's committing a crime if the calls are threatening or vulgar or put you in a position of harassment. Press charges, follow through and end it.

I agree with wildchild, please take your phone to the police and let them listen to the messages, especailly if you know who it is. Or talk to the cell phone company, they may have some ideas also

I would think that the cell phone company could block that caller. Do you know who it is? If the Cell Company can't help you call the police. They will make him stop.

Is he blocking his number? Seems to me my Tracfone lets me block individual numbers. If it's not blocked, you'll know who it is. (It kind of sounds like you may even know who it is?) If it's being blocked the cops can get the info from the cell company. You can ask that they tell him to stop calling. I don't really understand why you wouldn't want to do this to get it stopped. They won't take a rubber hose to him! LOL But I do think you should have him stop calling rather than have to avoid using your phone.

However, if this is a collection call or the like, and yes many of them can be very nasty, but they can't threaten you or anything like that. If that's the situation, then the police probably can't help you and you'd need to essentially dodge the calls.

You wouldn't be hurting him.His actions would be hurting him. You'd just be defending yourself. He's hurting you by inconveniencing you. Why just roll over and allow him to abuse you like this?

Since I don't know (and don't have a need to know) who this person is to you, I can't say what he will do. But I found out the hard way that if someone is going to that extreme to "get to you", and they don't get the response they are looking for, they may take up a new "hobby". You don't want this person getting so frustrated that they resort to some other unhealthy way to get your attention. I do know that in some jurisdictions, the phone company has to initiate the block. In others, it's a police matter. Either way, it can still be a crime. I would have the calls blocked - report it to the authorities and at least you will have a record of theses calls in case you decide you've had enough. Build your case early. I didn't, and it escalated into a huge mess and I ended up having to get the authorities involved anyway - by that time I was a wreck! FWIW, I wasn't used to being around that type of situation and was so afraid I would get this person in some sort of trouble. But I learned through what I saw / heard from the authorities how bad it can really get if someone really wants to get to you. The peace that had after it was over was amazing, and nothing bad hadpped to the other person.

i had a problem with recorded "political" calls being made to my verizon cell. someone suggested if I had a phone that allowed me to initiate different ring tones for different callers, I could simply choose "no ring" for this caller....I did..and do...and guess it worked, because the calls stopped...hope this helps .... it would be worth a try. then again, if he is flooding your vmail...i guess this suggestion wouldn't help...try it anyway...it might help! at least you wouldn't be harrassed with the constant calling from this person and having to avoid your phone...
