Jane - If you avoid high risk behavior (by sticking to legit websites, legit apps from mainstream sources, and don't respond to spam/malware laden messages and emails), I'm going to say your risk is somewhere between zero and misiscule. If you'd feel better by installing a security app, then do so. Make sure you set up your phone to require a password/security pattern for access. It's a pain but a simple protection that buys you some time to notify your carrier should your phone fall into unfriendly hands. You have no liability for unauthorized/fradulent access to your financial accounts no matter what means are used. The institution is on the hook when that happens, not you. Banks and financial institutions are pushing their apps and new forms of transactions using smartphones. A new system called proximity payment will allow you to trigger a payment by passing your smartphone near a sensor. All these uses and more will only grow, fraud losses is just one of their costs of doing business. Their losses of various kinds with credit cards are surprisingly large, and I suspect they think things like proximity payment systems will provide more security FOR THEM. Use and enjoy your phone for your financial transactions (I do the same) and lose no sleep about it.

On that phone the built in ring tones are most likely midi format. That's the only flip phone I don't have here but pretty sure that's what it is. If your new phone has a voice recorder you could just record it onto the new phone. My desktop doesn't have blutooth but I bought a rocket fish bluetooth adapter for $20 that plugs into the USB. Works perfect with my smart phone and hubbys badic phone to transfer files. I have an otterbox case on my phone so a pain to take it off all the time to get at the back cover to take the memory card out so this was an easier solution and cheap. It depends on the phone and the carriers. There's a number of different types of service out there too. For instance different carriers use different frequencies (CDMA, PCS, GSM, etc) SIM cards are suggestive of GSM technology used by Tmo and ATT. If you're looking to use prepaid service you can sometimes use the phones but won't always have all the features. If you're looking for a contract service, then as cautioned before, beware of costs to change. Often the smallest thing will extend your contract. For instance, if you get a new phone, you generally get a new (extended) contract with hefty cancellation fees. You'll have to get more info from the companies, but generally speaking, Tmo will not be interchangeable with Virgin and Verizon. Tmo & AT&T are more likely to be options. Probably not answering your question, but not an easy question to answer!

Koda - you could Google "free ringtones" and I'm sure you'd come up with a bunch of sites. My phone is a Nokia 6126. It came with a bunch of ringtones, one of which is called "Jazzy Piano" -- and I like it, so that's my default ringtone. This phone can hold one of the MicroSD cards (and, of course, I have one). I can take the card out and put it in my card reader attached to my computer, and transfer ringtones (and photos, etc.) onto it just as if I were moving or copying files from one folder to another on the 'puter. Ringtones can also be sent to the phone via SMS messages, then saved to either the phone itself or to the MicroSD card. I can go onto the Web with the phone and get ringtones, too. I can, and have, created calling groups. One is called "Brothers" and my hubs' four brothers and their wives are in that group. The ringtone assigned to the group is Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits. I do not have a graphic assigned to that group -- yet. Another group is named "Heart" and the graphic is, of course, red hearts. The phone numbers assigned to this group are our two landlines at home, hubs' cell phone, and hubs' work phone. The ringtone is Pour Que Tu M'Aimes Encore sung by Il Divo. Ringtone for my older sister is Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty. Graphic is the Eiffel Tower ('cuz she speaks fluent French and loves Paris). Ringtone for my younger sister is Over the Rainbow sung by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. She's in LaLa land half the time... Ringtone for niece Elizabeth is Surfer Girl by the Beach Boys.
