Here's my (almost) finished sewing room

I still have 2 fabric cabinets to weed thru,but this is how it looks now.

Kathi

Sewing area,with view of gardens.

Computor area.

floor space.

TV Area.

crossstitch area.

cutting table.

Cutting table/crosstitch area.

computor area and fabric cabinets,small cabinet holds crosstitch supplies,larger holds quilting fabric.

Thread rack.

Enjoy the view.

Love your sewing room. I will have another one someday. But in order to have it some of my children will have to move out. I'd rather sew in the family room and have them around for a while longer. My day will come.

Backsplash will be tile. And the paint color, well that will be very last. Here is my granite choice. DH not loving it and i still have to get a final price today. DH doesn't want to pay alot more than what we budgeted for. Can't seem to agree on granite For those who asked cabinets are Diamond maple sangria finish.

Thanks Breezy! It means a lot coming from you since I tend to respect and agree with so many of your opinions and design opinions! I love your vent hood - wish I'd thought of or seen something like that when I was looking! I was just thinking earlier that I can't wait to see your finished kitchen! I know I will love it. Unfortunately, I do not remember the stain I used on the floors. I know it was a combination of two darker stains - one might have had a coffeeish name. They painted samples on our floors and I picked based on those, so didn't really pay much attention to the names! The cabinets came painted white. It was the brighter white that Holiday cabinets offered. This is the reason that my kitchen is STILL just almost finished. The paint job on the doors is AWFUL! You can't see it in pics, but where the stiles meet on the doors is splitting on just about every door and drawer front. Not just a line, but splitting apart. This is on top of numerous mars, dents, and nicks on teh doors in various places. We are getting all new drawer fronts and doors that the KD is ordering from a different cabinet company (Downsview), but he has TOTALLY been dragging his feet on it. Besides the doors, he STILL hasn't put in the little fillers around my appliance cabinet. I'm so mad - he has lied to us over and over again about whether or not he ordered it and why it was delayed - blah blah blah. Luckily, I have our builder who uses this KD A LOT and owes him a big check for another job. Essentially, he is not paying the KD until he shows him the proof of order for my new cabinet door/drawer fronts. I also am FINALLY getting all of my drawer inserts and organizers a week from today. I do have my shades, but b/c of the issues above I still have no glass in the top of my cabinets and don't feel fully done! I WILL post pictures when all is done. Thanks again Breezy!

You are so organized that I feel sorry for you. You are missing out on the thrill of the hunt, stalking the wild rolling fabric cutter, quietly sneaking up on the elusive pack of hand quilting needles. How boring it must be to find your scissors hanging on a peg, right where you left them instead of under the little piles of thread and fabric scraps, on the floor. If you ever get tired of being neat, just give me a call and I will teach you how to be a slob. vique.

Wow, that's a nice, big room. You are very organized. I like the colorful cabinets. I'll bet that room helps get you in a creative mood!

Kathi looks like you are getting organized I lave the hammer hanging on the spool rack I have a miniture crowbar here strange thing show up in sewing rooms, I would like to know where you found the cabinet that your TV is sitting on I could use something like that.

Thanks ladies,wish you all lived closer then i could share all the books and magazines i'm getting rid of with you,but alas you don't so i'm waiting for a call back from the library.There are 5- 33 gal trash bags and one box sitting on my front porch right now waiting for AmVets to pick them up,plus a few miscellaneous pieces.

Gillian i got those shelve years ago at the unfinished furniture store,and that's 8 separate units stacked on top of each other.Those other 2 units to the left of the tv used to be stacked with them also and the whole thing before was on that wall to the left of the tv,and where the tv is i used to have my Simplicity pattern cabinet and a 5 shelf bookcase.I moved the pattern cabinet to the garage and got rid of the bookcase.Oh and that hammer is no longer there.I was using it and every time i laid it down i couldn't find it,so i hung it there til i was done.LOL

I didn't realize there was a magazine covering my cross stitch,so here is what was under the magazine!!

Both of my desks came from the goodwill several years ago.I love them for their size and durability,and alllthe drawers they each have.Paid 35.00 each.

Minnie,i can't stand empty walls,they make rooms look like no one lives there,IMHO.Besides if you're indulge in all these things then you should have them so you can enjoy them.

Nina,yes it is very nice to look out into the gardens,and watch the birds,and see all the flowers etc.So when i'm not in this sewing room,i'm usually out in the gardens.

There is only DH and i here now all our kids are grown and gone and have their own families.My oldest lives just 5 houses down the street with his family,so that's nice.

Vicky ,you'll get your room someday as well.This one was a long time coming.I used to sew on the kitchen table when the kids where all young,but i never let that stop me.

I'm pea green with envy that you have such a large room for yourself and to keep all of your stuff together! It's a lovely room. And I love the birdhouse quilt and the stained glass quilt on the wall!

How nice to have a room like that to work in, not to mention that now you are cleaning out all the stuff you you just could not part with, wonderful and I am sure you feel so good about that. It is nice to have your sewing machine near a window... that is a plus, something I wish I could do in my guest room that I sew in. You will enjoy this for a long time I am sure.

Thanks for sharing your sewing space with us. I am working on my own this (and last) weekend and am feeling more inspired than before.
