you made me cry. My dad is very very ill. And isn't going to recover (debilitating terminal disease). I'd give anything for him to make a recording and I asked him to do it a week ago. He hasn't even replied to my written request. I can still hear him singing in my head, but I wish I could hear it again. I'd give anything to have it recorded. I'm gonna miss that most of all.

Rob, if you don't live near enough to make the recording yourself, maybe you can ask someone else to approach him about it.

We all live here. All the siblings and parents. He refuses to sing any more. That's from when I was, I'm guessing, five. I think he sounds a lot like Neil Diamond. Maybe we can have a recording session with everyone there. That'd be cool. The parents' birthdays are July 8/9 and maybe we can film the bash? Dunno.

I can only hear my mother's parents...my dad's had passed away before I was born...(my dad was 46 when I was born)

wow that is great and I must say the person writing the first article had a wonderful command of the English language and his descriptions almost make you hear it. You just don't see that kind of descriptive writing these days.
I know what you mean about hearing their voices one more time.
I have saved a recorded message from my mother on my telephone answering machine, she is barely able to speak these days so hearing her sweet voice on that message means a lot.
I thought I had one of my father but apparently it was lost or got recorded over which is so disappointing.
So record them even if just talking so you can go back and hear their voices when you need to.

If you can get the family singing at the birthday bash, Rob ... maybe he'll join in.

Part of the second verse - eveyone else stops, maybe he'll continue.
