a few show photos, and what came home with me
Comments (5)Ha ha, I wish. No, that was a show citrata, given an award (don't remember which place). I took a pic of it to remind myself what they can be. I've had a citrata for a while, and it's doing great now. But it had its struggles. My citrata is what started the whole 'building my acrylic case' endeavor, and my very first ang. Wish I could've smelled that citrata, but it was set back a little far for me to lean over properly and try to smell it without feeling like I was going to fall into the display pit. Still waiting for mine to bloom. The spike looks like it's growing, but not super fast. Maybe it stalled? It's sending out a new root and keeps putting out new leaves. Oh well....See Moreshowing our house, keep photos up or take down?
Comments (44)Take them all down and store them until you move -- your goal is to sell your house for as much and as quickly as you possibly can and storing the pictures will (1) keep potential buyers focused on the house when they're looking at it and (2) depersonalize the offer process -- you definitely don't want them to not make an offer because they've make certain conclusions about you based on your photos. After you move, if you enjoy surrounding yourself with family pictures, then by all means do it. When I to to somebody's house that has their personal pics on display it feels a little "quirky" to me (albums on the table that aren't open 24/7 would be more appropriate, IMO), but it's your house and you should do what makes YOU happy -- after the sale, though....See MoreCheck out this 'staging' item! Comments (19)I found this on the condo's location...Harleston Village. As always, real estate prices are profoundly influenced by location, location, location. "Originally developed in 1770, Harleston village is a convenient , historic address in peninsular Charleston. This pleasant mix of antebellum houses and upscale modern townhouses is situated on the site of the first golf club in America, and a congenial community atmosphere still prevails. Surrounding the shady blocks of Harleston Village are the prestigious College of Charleston, South CarolinaÂs Medical University complex, and historic Cannon park and Colonial Lake. Many of the old homes were built from the wealth of early 19th century rice mills that lined nearby Ashley River, and some of CharlestonÂs finest Italianate, Regency and Georgian architecture is featured in such noteworthy examples as the Blacklocke and Jenkins-Mikell houses and the College of CharlestonÂs Randolph Hall. The sidewalk stroll is the preferred means of transportation along these quiet streets, where neighbors gather for morning cappuccino at corner cafes or late -afternoon cocktails on garden piazzas. Only a few blocks from the King Street retail district, the stylish restaurants of the City market, and the yachts and sailboats of the Charleston Marina, Harleston Village offers easy access to all the pleasures and necessities of the good life." /tricia...See MoreShowing a condo- empty or worth it to pay for staging?
Comments (18)Agreed that it depends on the condo itself - mostly floor plan but also just to warm it up - especially if it doesn't have any carpet. I took a buyer to 8 condos the other day, and there was a new build, clean, perfect, very cold, very stark, but the agent took us next door to the lightly staged "model" and it seemed so much nicer - just the warmth of a rug and bed in the bedroom helped a lot. Other condos wouldn't have made a difference. One condo had a lot of charm, in a older, quaint, desired part of town. But the living room, I actually advised the agent that she might just want to lightly stage just that room. The place had been upgraded, beautiful travertine, arched doorways, lighting, but they put dollar-store plastic mini-blinds in the windows, so in that big empty room, they stuck out like a sore thumb. One of those ventless fireplaces and some drapes over the windows would make that rooms so much more comfortable....See Moreadellabedella_usa
