Good Morning

Good morning everyone. It is sunny but very cool out this morning. I so hope I can stay home today and get some work done around here. Here are a few of the things I hope to try and get done today, plus the usual housework. Make pie dough to have on hand for next Sunday. That is when we are celebrating several birthdays and Mother's Day. Try to drag out the bags of water softener salt and put one or two in the softener. And if I have time and energy left, sew on the pj top for Norm. What has everyone been doing or do you plan to do this week?

Good morning, Sue.
As I write, Dh is off cleaning up a friends rhubarb patch and will bring home a good supply for me to prepare for use in the next few days and some to freeze for later. Tomorrow I will bake a rhubarb cream cake to have for company on Wednesday. On Wednesday another couple and dh and I are going on a road trip to check out a Plow and Hearth store and an Ikea store. Really looking forward to Plow and Hearth, as their catalog has lots of stuff in it that falls in the "I can't live without" category. I hear that Ikea will have a lot of the same. So I'm guessing that the next few days after that road trip will be spent finding a place to put all that "stuff". Have a great week everybody.

Good morning, Marilyn Sue and Gazania - Gazania, lucky you having rhubarb. I love rhubarb and the cake sounds yummy.

I will be weightlifting a couple of times this week, making sure that I have sufficiently altered the granddaughters' dance recital costumes, going to a couple of volunteer jobs and as a little getaway, going on a bus shopping trip to Minneapolis this weekend. Will visit Ridgedale Mall and perhaps MOA.

Paint: I would wait on selecting a color until you have your furniture and accessories chosen. The present color (in picture anyway) feels washed out and a creamy white would be more modern and crisp. - Built in‘s/tv location: with the width on both sides of fireplace being different, you’ll have to configure bookcases accordingly, if going that route. Started out by making biscuits and gravy for my hubby. My plan is to weed, weed and do more weeding in my flower beds today and tomorrow. The ground is really moist so this will be a great time to do it. Plus I really enjoy doing this. I received 2 beautiful hanging baskets for Mother's Day. It's funny because both sons-in-laws came home with them. My youngest daughter gave me a huge beautiful planter of geraniums. Once I am finished weeding I will decide where to put them. All in all this should be a fun day..

Gazania, my rhubarb has been wonderful this year. Yum, yum!! And, you will love the Plow and Heath and Ikea stores. I have been to both. Great stuff!!

had to make a deposit (crazy ins co) then mail the same co a check, lol...the worst thing?? had to wear a coat! we had overnight frost warnings...my hanging basket i got for mother's day is still in the lr...if i don't get the sniffles from this i'll be lucky! not to mention the hugs and kisses from 6 of my dgks, lol...(2 are in daycare)

have to finish up clothes and do a couple of rugs...and put on a whole pork loin roast...they're still on sale at sam's club for $1.99 a lb...i'll get 4 meals....and a lunch or 2...so good smells later, lol....

Gazania -- wear extra-comfy shoes for your Ikea trip! (And the best thing I got from Plow & Hearth are big plastic "bear claw"-looking things to scoop up leaves with. They are fantastic!)

Suppose to be warm (80 later today, wind from the south, but oh so windy to work outside. Ground still too cold to plant, but the farmers are finally in the fields. Have had two field fires this past week. Am staying inside and catching up on stuff. Enjoyed the vendor's fair and got some nice things.

Today I am a vegetable. Had a very busy week last week, will have it just as busy the rest of this one. So today, please don't ask me to do anything. lol (Glad I have leftovers in the refrigerator).
