I wish I was that clever!

I love old serrated knives to use in the garden...cut right through roots, and a grapefruit spoon works great to dig the little plantlings out of their nursery pots.

Asparagus in the coffee maker? Can you post a picture? I have to see that!

I agree about multi-taskers with one caveat: It *must* be functional at both! For instance, Swing-a-way makes a great can opener but that pitiful excuse for a bottle opener on it should be punishable by a jail term or horse-whipping!

My best multi-tasker I can think of is my Nesco ovens. They do everything a crockpot does and much more. I can cook burger in it effectively, bake bread, roast, reheat and all safely, not like a crockpot.

And my computer is both a toy, an entertainment device and a workhorse tool for work, side businesses, record keeping and more.

I quit buying weed killers. I use either salt, bleach or vinegar or sometimes just boiling hot water.

Let's see, what else? Dawn does dishes, treats stains, washes hands, cars, floors, counters and more.

Oh and I don't bother with a teakettle or hotpot. I just use the coffeemaker when I need hot water for recipes or something.

My cell phone: phone,calendar,calculator,alarm clock,watch,memo pad,and camera.

Computer: social networking,bill paying,research and entertainment.

Socks: I wear them, I use old ones over my hand for dusting blinds, I fill a white one with baby powder for setting greasepaint make-up.

Cash: I buy things with it, amuse myself by doing origami with it and use it as a tape measure when shopping.(6"long)

Pony tail elastics: keep my hair off my face and keep electrical cords contained.

Denture tablets: clean carafes,thermos bottles and commuter cups and vases

A seldom used (because it is a pain to clean) wafflemaker makes two grilled cheese sandwiches perfectly toasted on both sides at once. It also holds two beef patties...even when taken straight from the freezer that don't splatter and cook quickly. For those two items it is a breeze to wipe clean with a paper towel then with a dishcloth.

Was watching some Good Eats episodes on the internet and the one show he used his waffle iron to cook his breakfast bacon. George Foreman eat your heart out!

What a bunch of great handy hints...I'm gonna try the waffle maker for grilled cheese sandwiches...they sound wonderful!

The only one I can think of is EASY OFF oven cleaner to clean wood cabinets...you spray it on...let it set for maybe 5 seconds and all that old grease and gunk wipe right off! I also used it to strip some kitchen chairs...took them outside...sprayed them generously and washed them off with the hose...they came out great!
