I agree that the khaki color would look really nice. You may want to go a shade darker than the color in the comforter, just to help hide any less-than-clean hand prints :-) My (pre-teen)son's comforter/accents are similar to those in your pic; I painted his room w/ Sherwin Williams Sand Dollar 6099 about 3 years ago, (Duration, satin finish) and it coordinates really well w/ the red and the blue. His furniture is a med. oak.

For beige, I would try SW Kilim Beige or Nomadic Desert. They are very nice neutral beiges - not too pink or green. If you wanted to be more bold, you could try to match the yellow color in the sheets.

The bedding is great.

I like the bedding you picked out. Have you thought about color psychology with your kids? Red is a "hot" color -- it can lead to fighting, although I'd be more concerned about it as a wall color than as an accent color. Blue is cool and calm, so if your boys tend to fight, a pale blue would be a nice choice to offset the red in the beds.

Brown (tan) can be calm and grounded, but it can also be sad and wistful to some. That said, my first thought was the beige in the flooring.

You might want to read up on color psychology and think about your boys' personalities. If you can, you might observe them in different colored rooms before you make your decision, since reaction to color can be an individualized thing. Just a thought.

Oceana, I am leaning towards the beige/warmer colored walls. I always thought of red as 'energy'. I think I have a nice wall colored picked out and was planning on some blue accents. I will definitely read up on color psychology.

I have to agree with squirrel - I think a nice light blue would look great. It is supposed to have a calming effect :-)

Here are spome ins. pics. I tried to find rooms with the colors of the set you picked. Either color looks nice with the reda and blues. The tan is BM Manchester Tan. I'm not sure what the blue is, but you could find out. They are both from PBkids. They now list the paint colors as well! Finally!

I love both those rooms! And the vintage, athletic look is what I am hoping to achieve. I wonder which color would look best in a tiny room? I definitely do not want to make it look any smaller.

Blue recedes. With the warm tan, one that's a bit dark like that, the room will feel more warm and cozy with the walls pulled in around you.

I'd ask the boys what they would like.
