Our Anniversary

Today is our 32nd anniversary! We were high school sweethearts, I was 15 and in 10th grade, he was 16 and in 11th grade when we starting dating. 5 1/2 years later we got married.

Still live in the same hometown that we grew up in. We have 2 outstanding adult children, Nickolas and Amanda, that we are so very proud of.

So now we are in what we hope is the BEGINNING of our "twilight" years. He's such a good, honest, strong man, and I love him very much. He would do anything for me, as I would for him.

Thanks for letting me gush a little bit.

Thank you, amck. Tonight I am going to really try out the griddle. I will sorta stir fry some farmer's market green beans, as I sautÃÂ© some onions to mix with them and decide what else to add to them (spices, peppers, ????), as I warm some leftover jasmine rice from last nights stir fry in a bit of olive oil, as I quickly grill some little tenderloin filets wrapped in bacon --all on the same griddle. The amount of real-estate in that griddle astounds me. I feel like a chef on Diners, Driveins and Dives. What fun! It may be a chance to play with varying heats on the two right burners. But the heat retention on that heavy griddle and around the CC burners is incredible. After I did the initial seasoning of the griddle on the stovetop, there was still retained heat after over an hour! So just turning a burner up or down doesn't give immediate change. Fun to have new toys to play with. Mustangs, I am pleased you like the window. There are things I would change in my kitchen, things I regret in my kitchen. Truthfully? He probably DIDN'T spend that much time buying your gifts, but at least he did!! It may not be much but he exhibited effort on his part and attempted to make you happy. And besides, perhaps he saw the bear in the store and it reminded him of you. LOL!! That may sound crazy but guys sometimes think crazy! Perhaps the button eyes are the color of your eyes? Perhaps on one of your first dates he won a teddy bear at a fair for you and he wanted to revisit that moment in time. Or perhaps he's completely clueless and he has no idea what would make you happy. But regardless, he did try and that shows he cares about you. At this very moment he could be telling his buddy's about some tree she got me as a "gift" and she now wants me to plant it in the yard!! LOL!!!

"Twilight Years"? Ha-ha-ha! What are you, fifty? Oh, my dear *girl*! It's only late morning for you! Long way to twilight -- especially in summer! LOL

Congratulations to both of you for keeping your love alive and growing. Keep on with whatever you're doing. Obviously, It's working! Lucky you and lucky kids to have such happiness at home.

My DH and I didn't start out as happy as we are now -- 48 years later.

lol, o.k. how about "dusk years" or "late afternoon years"? I pray we have many more years together, I guess I said twilight because my parents only had 36 year together before my Dad died. Mom followed 12 years later. My Dad was only 60!

And thank you for the "girl" and "young'un", they made me smile for sure. I'll be 53 in August. How did THAT happen??

It's good to know that there are some marriages that hold together thru thick and thin. And we all know there are plenty thicks and thins in marriage. My DH and I will be married 62 years in September.
