Our Anniversary

Today, Bob (my best friend)and I will celebrate 44 years of marriage. We plan to celebrate this morning by going to Walmart's Nursery and buying a lemon tree. Very appropriate way to celebrate, don't you agree???? LOL

Hi all Thank you for the nice comments on my clock. Actually the clock is not that hard to make. I followed a pattern which is glued to the wood then removed later. The cutting probably took about 10-12 hours, although I am not sure as I worked on it in my spare time. With wood prearation, assembly and finishing about another 5-6 hours it probably took about 18 hours to build ths clock. Thank you, amck. Tonight I am going to really try out the griddle. I will sorta stir fry some farmer's market green beans, as I sautÃÂ© some onions to mix with them and decide what else to add to them (spices, peppers, ????), as I warm some leftover jasmine rice from last nights stir fry in a bit of olive oil, as I quickly grill some little tenderloin filets wrapped in bacon --all on the same griddle. The amount of real-estate in that griddle astounds me. I feel like a chef on Diners, Driveins and Dives. What fun! It may be a chance to play with varying heats on the two right burners. But the heat retention on that heavy griddle and around the CC burners is incredible. After I did the initial seasoning of the griddle on the stovetop, there was still retained heat after over an hour! So just turning a burner up or down doesn't give immediate change. Fun to have new toys to play with. Mustangs, I am pleased you like the window. There are things I would change in my kitchen, things I regret in my kitchen. Thanks to all who responded with good wishes! We had a lovely day and found the perfect Meyer Lemon Tree. It is already planted in a nice pot and it is filled with sweet-smelling blossoms. I had planned to put it on the back patio, but for the time being, I'm putting it by the front door so that I can enjoy that fragrance every time the door opens.

From what everything I've read Meyer lemons are far superior to the regular "garden variety".
