One of my favorite cousins died

I received word last night that another one of my favorite cousins died on Monday.

I'm glad that I had a chance to talk with her back in February after she was moved to an assisted care facility. Her and her husband (my cousin, but I've always called her cousin too) were always great to my mom when she was alive. Whenever they were going "up to the farm" (mom's old home) they'd stop by both on the way and back. Several times they'd just stop by out of the blue.

Even though they were a lot older then me, I was close to them throughout the years.

I now have one cousin left (93) and her and I chat with each other often. I had to call her to give her the news and we had a nice chat about family. She always liked Jeanne and was sad to hear about her death. We then began to recall things from the past including how my mom lived with her family for a short period of time. Mom was always one of her favorite aunts.

Feel sad, but know my cousin is comfortable now.

Marquest, now that you explained your day, maybe it's not so exciting. (: And when did the airlines start charging for luggage? 3am is rather early. I'd be a zombie, lol. Your terrorist comment is funny, but sad. It's too bad we live on a planet where violent, insane people deem bombs, toys. In the meantime, because of their ignorance, other ppl have to suffer. Still, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Seller says she lives in, Borneo Malaysia. Aren't they two different countries? And far from each other? But let's say it's Malaysia.. Shipping is 8.5 pounds. Do you know how to convert 8.5 pounds to USD? If so, what is the answer? Now that math time is over, let's talk plants..lol Mike..When I look at a picture of plants, I study the entire photo. Background, sides, etc..lol. Never know what you'll find..lol.. One reason I miss real cameras that take instant pics. You wouldn't believe the number of plant pics I have..lol..It's nice going back. Not sure how much it was. The big ones are usually around $300 and up so I don't even look. They get shipments from Iseli and Buchholz. The stuff from Iseli at all the nurseries is always horribly root bound. It's sad. I shouldn't support their bad practices but I still end up buying it.

Oh that is too bad. I'm so sorry.

Cousins are so special, at least that is my experience. I have 3 cousins and I view them as relatives who are friends. My children have 13 cousins, some of whom are now having children of their own and they all view one another as friends. None of them ever miss a family gathering because they like seeing one another.

I am sorry for your loss. I know how much I love my cousins I would miss them dearly if I lost one..I have already lost 2, but they were old enough to be my dad...

Lucky you to have HAD close relationships with cousins! I'm sorry for your loss.

My mother was an only, and my father's parents played their six children off against one another. Consequently, the dozen cousins were never close. I am especially 'out of the loop' because my parents divorced when I was very young, and my grandparents ceased to have an interest in me. Only my eldest cousin and I kept in touch a bit, and she is now gone. These cousins area also spread out all over the US.

I am so sorry for your loss. Cousins are very special people. My sister is the only one of the cousins who have passed. When she passed all of them were at her funeral. Made my family feel so loved. We were all so close as children. All grown and many have stayed in the same area. Only a few have left town. Aunts and Uncles also all gone now.
