Dear Fishy, Thank you for the lovely box of goodies that arrived yesterday! I love the Calla Lilies! I have been wanting some for quite a while now and love the mixed mixed colors that you sent! I don't have any of these in my gardens and will be looking forward to all of these new blooms. I just received my order from Novosel the other day so it is perfect timing with all of the peat pots and trays and mini greenhouses that I now have! Thanks everyone for the kind words! I did make the centerpiece and had a mess when I got finished. This was the first time I used moss as a filler and wow, little pieces of that stuff gets everywhere! You couldn't really tell very much about the candle I used in the centerpiece, but it was heart shaped and had pink sparkly beads all over it. I think it was my favorite thing that I bought! I found the little silk rosebuds at Wal Mart. They were in small bunches and each one had all three colors of roses on it. That made it much easier for me to arrange it. I always have a hard time mixing colors in a centerpiece...it seems like I always end up with too much of one color. I think ya'll have the right idea of just setting the table for ourselves and forgetting the entertaining! I was exhausted by the time everyone was gone last night. Not only do we have to go shopping for the decos, but then we have to plan out the menu...then you've gotta decorate. After that comes the actual cooking...but then after all that, you've still got dirty dishes to wash! Yep, a caterer is sounding better every minute. LOL!

Thanks, Mom, you reminded me that my own neighbor has snowblown my driveway a couple of times this year, I owe him some bread. Those Valentines look perfect to me, but I figure a little powdered sugar/frosting never hurt! Annie

Glad you ladies are getting started on Valentines! You may think the link below (a children's site) is a little 'childish' but many of the ideas can be "gussied up" and used for adult cards... it's all in the materials and skill level used.
