Although I don't have any experience as a buyer I do as a businessman in the same industry.
Everything I've ever heard about both of these builders has been very positive. If I were building a pool in the Dallas area I wouldn't hesitate in using either one of them.
I am currently building with Gold Medal Pools. It is owned by Steve Sandler of Riverbend Sandler. I have heard great things about both companies and my experience so far has been great with Gold Medal. If you have questions, please let me know.
Congrats to both you for choosing your PB. I would love to know more specifics on your pools. Perimeter, depth, finish, equipment & price. What ever your willing to share. We live in Carrollton and looking at building next spring. Thanks again....Bob
Daisee86, We just built with Hobert Pools and were very pleased with them. Even with all of the rain they finished in 7 weeks. Our pool is beautiful and every group they sent out did top quality work. Like Kelley said they are both good companies and you can't go wrong with either. Just my 2 cents worth.
Hrm. All the specs I can remember right now are 11,600 gallons. Here is a post I put up late last week. They have done plumbing and are working on some grading for the decking today.
I'm not sure the exact perimeter. The pool goes 3.5 feet to 6 feet deep. The company is Gold Medal Pools and I have been REALLY happy with them so far. As I mentioned, they were not the cheapest, but they were in the same ballpark as Hobert and Riverbend Sandler.
Let me know what other questions I can answer. You can email me directly at:
Ditto husky. I knew Steve Sandler when he was building in ground Heldor vinyl liner pools in the late 70's. He didnt' cut corners with them, and I'm sure he doesn't on gunite. His work ethic is second to none. I don't know anyone anymore at Hobert, but their rep is good also.
Well I did it! I signed contract with Riverbend / Sandler yesterday. It is still not real to me. I have to have electric reroute, permit, and HOA approval before they can start, so it will probably be several week then it will seem all too real as they start digging a big hole in my yard. Thanks again for all the advice.
Good luck with the build. We had a pool built in Plano in 1993 back when Sandler Pools hadn't merged with anyone. We still own the house as a rental unit, a few issues along the way but pool proper has held up well, Pebbletec finish with a rolled berm, no tile, idea is to look more like a pond. Haven't seen it personally in over 5 years but the rental manager sends us pictures and it still looks great! Again, good luck.
Steve Sandler owns Gold Medal Pools at www.goldmedalpools.com in Frisco,Texas. Steve founded Sandler Pools Inc. in 1975 and sold the Plano operation to a gentleman named Travis Bain in 1993 due to all the growth and my desire to downsize and maintain a more personal one on one relationship with every project and client which gets lost in the numbers game. Travis then merged with Riverbend in order to increase their marketshare etc. Now at Gold Medal Pools you not only get 40 years of experience with Steve Sandler personally but also are dealing with Josh Sandler ,Mary Sandler, Shelly Sandler and Gail Tanney- Sandler in a family owned and operated business as well as a superb hand chosen Team of people whom are passionate and take a lot of pride about what they do . Craftsmanship is a word not heard often enough anymore but is one of the many keys to Steve's success over the years and is carried through personally at Gold Medal Pools. A very unique situation with a very unique organization where you CAN'T go wrong. This is the way doing business should be !!!
