I want to add my two cents worth about my disappointment with the way Org. Gardening has turned out. I have read it for decades and am now reluctantly giving up. Garden Design is useless. Love Fine Grardening - yeah, it's lots of pictures (I think the best photography of the lot), but really good articles and advice. I have volumes going back for years - that's the one I keep. And I share them a lot w. new gardeners and friends. It's easy to locate specific articles with useful info. Also like Horticulture a lot. And I have just become a "member" of New England Gardening Club - primarily for the magazine People, Plants and Places - which is really quite good, but also because with joining comes a discount card for many NE garden centers and nurseries. This advice is only useful for NE, obviously - but if you are in this region check it out at newenglandgardening.com. I also belong to the Americal Horticulural Society and their magazine is excellent - that's an expensive join, but I get free entrance to many botanical gardens and so it pays me to do this (besides which, it's a good org to support_) I know this is supposed to be about least favorite but, hey, it just leads one to think about what one DOES like. sorry if this is incorrect

I subscribe to Cottage Living Country Living Southern Living Mary Engelbreits Home Companion-(but I am pissed at them right now and gonna write a letter- I always felt part of a subscription was that you recieved your mags before they came out on the news stands well we were at B+N last night and there it was the new issue- do I have one in my mailbox yet??? NOOO!!! grr.) Ok thanks for letting me rant and rave lol- just a pet peeve of mine. I occasionally buy different cottage style mags that are special publications but have to look at them first. I also buy Romantic homes once in a while I have a friend whose home was featured in there recently- kinda neat. And I just had a snippet published in Country Marketplace- about the perfect day- I spoke about an experience we had in Hawaii in the 90's. RaNae

I receive Everyday Food. I didn't renew Chatelaine or Style at Home. All magazines are catering more to fashion and younger styles now, than they used to. I like the recipes and they are getting scarce. They will show a picture of a meal and encourage you to go online to view the directions, and more recipes. Hmmmm if people wanted to go online, they wouldn't be subscribing, so why not keep the recipes in the mag? I received a number of Good Housekeeping, Women's Day and BH and Gardens. They've changed as well since I remember buying them yeeeeaars ago. All kinds of advertising, and less information. I also received a bunch of Taste of Home a couple years ago. I had never heard of them, but really enjoyed them. They were older issues. I now see them on the racks here, and I browsed through them. They've changed significantly as well, and I won't subscribe to that one either.
