How do I hang curtains over vertical blinds that stick out?
Comments (25)This is an old thread which I happened to come across in a search to hide vertical blinds in a rental--in my case, over sliding doors. Check with the HOA if you live where there is one because some do not allow the slats to be taken down in order to preserve the symmetry on the outside, especially in "cookie cutter" neighborhoods. Verticals may be dated--but then so are the ideas of many HOA's-- and the fines are very real and can be quite steep. If you rent, you may be charged by the owners for any fees incurred for the violation of some very antiquated and weird rule. And there are some owners who do not want them removed for whatever reason, which can become a hassle when inspection time comes up before rent renewal....See MoreDoes curtain rod have to span the full window bank?
Comments (18)HI everyone, here are the pics to go with the sketch above. Appreciate any thoughts. As I mentioned, the fireplace will be decorative only- suggestions for that are welcome. The 60in TV will be going on the black console across from the fireplace. The piano stays in the room and I was thinking of moving toward the corner with the white console that will be moved possibly on the opposite wall behind the piano to hold all the music. Open to other positions for the piano. It was suggested that I add a couple of chairs and ottoman between the fireplace and piano area. There is a sectional coming for the left side of the fireplace (front side of house). Still need tables and lighting. The sectional is a small black/cream texture. The wall color is throughout the whole house that we bought over the winter and I'l like for it to change :) Curio not staying in this room,. Rocker can go as well. thank you...See Morehow can I hang curtains?

Comments (5)I have a bank of windows that is 38' feet long. We used conduit pipe and conduit connectors to span the distance. Ours is 1/2" diameter. (Don't remember if that's inside or outside diameter.) Also used curtain rod brackets at each connection joint, plus more, spaced as needed. Combined with "C" rings, so the drapes can clear the brackets. Electrical conduit is available in several sizes in 10' and 20' lengths Clean thoroughly, spray with a bonding primer, and then with Rustoleum in your preferred finish....See Moregraywings123
