using a Hoosier cabinet base as an island

hi all, i have an old oak hoosier type cabinet base that i'd like to use in my kitchen as an island. the problem is it's only 32 inches high. i'd like to raise it to 36" so i don't have to bend over and break my back to use it as a work surface. any ideas on how to raise it and have it look good? i was thinking maybe old metal wheels but i have a maple wood floor that that would scratch the floors... btw, it currently has a white enamel top that pulls out. thanks for any ideas you may have!
